Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course is quite decent. It is also little bit outdated though they follow iit and nit curriculum. Some subjects will help to crack interviews and placements but some also are added for no reason academically just to maintain the semester credits. Though they are becoming updated from this year by following industry oriented syllabus like adding of specialisation course like Al, ML, IoT, cybersecurity etc. management can be improved. Exams are conducted 2 times in per semester. Mid sem and end sem. Some class test and quiz are also taken for internal evaluation. Difficulty level of exams becomes higher as you go to higher semester especially in 3rd to 6th semester.

Internships Opportunities

3

You will get internship opportunities from 6th sem onwards. Just be attentive with your placements teachers they will let you know. You will also get details in your mail. If you are through in core subjects like ds, daa, DBMS, os, oopj etc then you will get good internship upto a certain stipend. Gpa is also matter for internship. You have to do certain mandatory project work under your faculties for good experience in industry from 6th sem.

Placement Experience

3

From the end of 6th sem onwards you are eligible for internship and campus placements. If you want just a placment then it's fine you will get, but for a decent placment you have to maintain your proper skills and gpa. Around 400 companies visit kiit which includes both startups and mass recruiters. Some of the big 4 companies also visit. Top companies include Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Deloitte, cognizant, Accenture, hsbc, j p Morgan, Bosch, tata motors, tech mahindra, amazon etc... you will get exposure and opportunities but it is upto you how much you increase your skill and be industry oriented.

Fees and Financial Aid

On average per year college fees including hostel and institutional fees is approx 5 lakh. Registration fees 75000 through which you will get laptop and books for all semester. Tution fees 193000 per semester Hostel fees 50000 per semester including mess fees. Reserved candidates also get some relief in college fees. Scholarship is also available, if u get more than 98 percentile in kiitee entrance exam you are eligible for scholarship. Terms and conditon for scholarship are you have to maintain 75 percentage attendance and 7.5 gpa in all semsters. Scholarship amount is 10000 per month and also varies according to the category of scholarship. You can get scholarship in mid of college curriculum if you came in top 5 performers in any semester.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life is very awesome and campus is well maintained with greenery. There is no restrictions at all in campus. You will have great campus exposure. Many events and fest are conducted evey year. Kiit fest is the biggest fest of kiit and odisha. Kiit fest is usually held in December or February. Every campus has its own departmental library. Central library is also there for whole university. Library is also well maintained and you can refer books for every field. Classrooms are equipped with smartboards, AC, projector and wifi. 24x7 wifi service available in whole campus and hostel. Sports infrastructure is better than any university in india. Every type of sports stadium are present. You can also get in some societies and clubs for extra exposure and co curricular activities according to your hobbies.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is quite good. Well furnished with chair, table, cupboard. Different type of hostels are available according to student need. Basically it depends from hostel to hostel. In some hostel you will also get good wardens and intime. Mess food quality is ok ok and varies from hostel to hostel (quite average). For hostel you have to register in hostel block and wait for 2-3 days for accomodation. Security deposit for hostel is 15000. Pg and rented flats are also available near kiit and nandankan, patia but rent fees is little bit high. If u get a shared flat with your friends. then it will be good.

Admission

I also applied in colleges like Iter, CGU, and SRM but they are very far from my hometown. Kiit has also decent exposure compared to these colleges. I got rejected from Vit due to low score in entrance exam. Eligibility for b tech in kiit is to score 60 percent in 12th board with pcm as core subjects. For admission in kiit you have to give kiitee exam and score decent to get your preferred branch. You can also go through jee mains score. Management quota is also available through certain agents which will cost you extra management fees.

Faculty

3

Exam is conducted 2 times in every semester. Mid sem 20 marks and end sem 50 marks. Rest 30 marks based on internal performance given by sub teachers. Exam department is very strict in cheating. If you think you can score good by studying one night before exam then you are wrong. You have to maintain atleast class notes and give time in weekly basis to score good or decent. Faculties are both good and bad. Basically it depends on your choosen section . If u are lucky enough to get good teacher then fully utilise them as some are very good and approachable for both academics and placements. Some also will give u the most horrbile experience of your college life. Some good teachers I ever met at kiit are samuya jena, Ramesh thakur, chittaranjan Pradhan, nachiketa tarassia etc. student teacher ratio is 70:6

Night Life

5

Nightlife is good for seniors but for 1st year it is very strict. Intime for 1st year students is before 7pm. From 2nd year onwards you will get liberation in hostel intime. (Upto 9 pm) For girls it is little strict for safety purposes rather than boys. Famous hangout places for (some people iykyk) are mba garden, rose garden and kims garden.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Artificial Intelligence)

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
