College Life - A Stupendous Experience

It's a college of mix views. For some it is a great college with lots of good events but at the same time for others it lacks good teaching staff. I would like to share the same views if they can focus on improving the quality of teaching staff a bit then it would be great.

We follow the Mumbai University Course curriculum. Our course curriculum is pretty good. It aims towards betterment of students with providing them knowledge in all the fields in first year while our core domain in rest 3 years.

Internship is something you can do part time in vacation period or during/after college hours. Our college doesn't provides internship from their sides,but they appreciate to look out for internships and also provide leave for the same.

The training and placement cell does quite an excellent job in our college. Almost 90% of the eligible students get placed in some or the other companies. Big company names visiting our college for placements include TCS, Infosys, LTI, etc.

RGIT is one of the colleges which is known for its events. We have our annual technical fest called the ICARUS in which we have different events related to technologies. We also have the grand annual cultural fest ZODIAC. We have a huge number of fun and gaming events along with cultural nights in which we get to witness performances by various artists.

The fee structure is a tad expensive but keeping in mind engineering college, it is moderate. The tuition fee along with all other expenses is around 1 lakh for a year. Having an OBC/SC or any other caste certificate might cost you very less as compared to general students.

As I mentioned above, there is scholarship for other backward class students so that their fees is kept minimal as they can afford it. I have no idea about loan facility provided by the college but I don't thing so there is one.

The sports fest of our college OLYMPIA intrigues out students to go out and play your hearts out. We have plenty number of sports events during this period which includes cricket, football, badminton to name a few. The Labs are not that efficient as a lot of pcs don't work.

There is no separate hostel in Rgit. Also most of the students here are from Mumbai so no need for hostels. The students from outstation avail the facility of paying guests as there is no separate hostel.

As I'm in the last year of my college I have experience 4 years of a great helpful life from my batch mates as well as seniors. There is an Alumni Committee RGITAA to keep in touch with the aum is of our college.

The exam structure is as per the norms set by Mumbai University. We have end semester exam structure with two unit tests in each sem. We also have vivas and orals to analyse the knowledge acquired by the students.

After giving my entrance exam I got a combined percentile of JEE and HSC. I then registered for colleges through DTE Maharashtra,an initiative to ease the admission process in colleges. I opted for RGIT in my top preferences while filling the form, and I got admission in the college through CAP round.

The faculty of our college isn't quite great as compared to other colleges except a few teachers. The faculty here has immense knowledge but aren't able to convey it to the students properly. They lack communication skills a bit.
