Course is well planned and recently changed to suit the changing nature of the industry. Course is divided into 6 semesters. Each semester has 6 subject. The course includes shipping related subjects, known as core subjects and Maths, Physics, English.

There is no mid-term internship required. Although it is mandatory to undergo 12 months sea training after completing the course. The training will be given by company which you are placed in and will be counted as your sea time.

Placement vary from 60-80% depending upon the industry trends. Some companies come for campus placement, other companies conduct open test for students of all colleges of pre-sea training. If you clear all subjects at once you will get placement.

Table tennis. Etc. College has computer labs, MECS workshop and shipping related labs. It has simulator rooms for practice.

Exam is held in 6 semesters. Each semester has 6 subject. Each subject for 100 marks, of which 30marks is for internal assessment and 70 marks external exam conducted by University. If you cannot clear an exam in single attempt, your final certificate will not be first class.

Fill the form which is released in April every year on IMU website imu.edu.in Give entrance exam in your nearest exam centre. The results are announced within a month time. Then apply for online counseling. Choose your preferred course and set them according to preference. For this college, IMU Navi Mumbai Campus- B.Sc. Nautical Science. If you are eligible with your category and rank, college will be allotted.

Faculty is very good. They have vast knowledge of industry and are highly experienced. All faculties are captains who have sailed on the ship. So there is lot of academic as well as practical knowledge to gain.
