Course Curriculum Overview

4

Up until now, the curriculum has managed to do just a little more than scratching the surface but it is expected to pickup the pace in the next sem starting July 2025. Overall, the relevance of the curriculum could be said to be high with respect to the scope of the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees- 9468, year 2024. Tuition fees- n/a. Caution fees- n/a. Lab fees- after breakages. Development fees- under admission fees. Registration fees- around 500. Fee category - fee paying. Around 2000-3000 in scholarship available for reserved castes.

Campus Life

3

Sports is encouraged which is a plus. Sports can bring together groups from various courses. Haven't quite come accross any reasonable clubs yet, but events are held every year and social gatherings are fun. The social life can be said to be moderately good.

Admission

I was a student in H.V. Desai college before I came here. The experience in my current college has been better than the last college, but that could be attributed to the change in the education policy that occurred last year, but the campus space is definitely better/bigger here than the last college. Also, the library is a lot more well maintained and welcoming.

Faculty

4

Each theoretical course has one and each lab course has two members of the teaching staff assigned to it. Marking: one internal exam (independent of end sem examination) per semester, marks are assigned based on quality of assignment/project completed and internal examination. It is possible to pass purely from the examination. The internal exam is relatively easy to score in as compared to the end semester exam with barely any students failing.

Interview Experience

4

It was good. The faculty were cooperative and responsive. It was a presentation on which they were to grade me. They guided me through the presentation well and I ended up passing the course for that sem.

Night Life

3

As far as my knowledge goes, nightlife is rare. The gym is good and well maintained with some students actually benefitting from the free services of the gym. Recently, there has been an improvement in the canteen and a new cafeteria has opened up in the premises itself. The quality of the food is good. Fc road on walking distance so there's no scarcity of hangout spots.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
