Presidency University : The 2nd Home

The university is actually the 2nd home for each and every Students. The campus is very student friendly and students happily come to college. The college teaches the students to be socially aware. Infrastructure is more or less good but can be imoproved further.

The course curriculum is very much scientific and focuses mainly on long term research. We have six semester in 3 years Bsc course. We have mid semester and end semester examination in each semester.

Many departments have direct placements to famous companies. Departments like Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics etc provides summer and winter internship. Interested students can email the respective faculty for undergoing internships. There is no stipen provided for internship.

The college celebrates a lots of events like the annual day, the foundation day etc. Apart from this the student organizations organizes various college fests, fresher's welcome ceremonies etc. Moreover there are events related to different sociopolitical issues organized by the students.

The fees structure is very much feasible. Students of all income category can study in our college. There is a minimal admission fees and a certain amount of examination fees every semester. But overall the fees structure is very much feasible compared to other educational institutions.

There are various scholarship offered by different organization and also by the State government. There are scholarships which are solely for the girls. Certain organization gives scholarship to few of the meritorious students of the college.

There are various extracurricular activities in the college. There are drama clubs, photography clubs, art society, debate society etc. Students who are interested can join them. Moreover each department has their own well equipped laboratories. Various sports events are organized including cricket, football, table tennis, carrom, badminton, basketball etc.

I didn't opt for a hostel. But there's hostel accommodation facilities for both boys and girls separately. Both the hostels are properly maintained by the college authority. The girls hostel is little far drom the college and thus there is proper bus service from the college.

There exists a very active alumni association namely The Presidency University Alumni Association. Many well known and famous personalities who are ex- presidencians are attached to this association. The organize various events including the founders day celebration.

We had a entrance exam called PUBDET. A group of students were called for counseling according to the results in the entrance exam and also taking into consideration the marks in the class 12 final exam. The selected students got admission according to their merits.

The university has a vast diversity in it's faculties. In our department we have more than 30 faculties with varying field of research interests. Each faculty have their own laboratory with peoper infrastructure.
