Remarks
College is one of the best colleges of Delhi university. Moreover it is the oldest existing college in whole of delhi ,having a legacy of over 300 years.It definitely does not have the brand value of north campus colleges.But it is as good as any other college.Delhi university has 77 colleges affiliated to it. Among them, you can think it as the top 20th college.Hope this review helps.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is prescribed by Delhi university under UGC recommendations. The exam structure is semester system. There are two exams(external) each year.And during the semester internal marks are awarded to students based on assignments, term papers, internal papers, presentations etc. The current course system is CBCS.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell in my college which arranges for the placement and internships.But as internships is not a part of the curriculum of many bachelor courses, so I do not have much idea.But even if it is not necessary, you can grab a work opportunity as the placement cell is quite happening.
College Events
Being a delhi university college, something or the other always keep happening in the college.Major celebrations and events are carried out in the auditorium, which is one the best across the university.Even semesters are full of events like fest and fairwell while odd semester observe freshers party and other events
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is not much.It is definitely feasible.It ranges from 10000 to 15000 per year for nearly every course.Besides, there are lots of scholarships available, some of which are college based, university based, govt based or regional scholarships.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various scholarships.Like scholarships for keralites, scholarships for muslims, scholarships for east indians, scholarships for SC/ST/OBCs, scholarships for economically weaker sections, full fee waiver for orphans etc.
Campus Life
The college is thrilling with co curricular abd extra curricular activities throughout the year.There are 3 chemistry labs, instrumentation labs, physics labs, electronics labs, psychology labs, zoology and botany labs, computer labs, etc . Most of them are air conditioned ,spacious and well maintained. The college library has one of the biggest collections across the University.The sport ground is under construction along with the new academic block which is an eleven floor sprawling new building.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are very helpful and well connected with juniors. There is no such thing as division between seniors and juniors. Ragging is completely forbidden. These guys will become a large family for you for the three years of graduation.
Admission
Cutoff for various courses and colleges of delhi university was released.Everything was according to the admission procedure as prescribed by Delhi university.The cutoff which was 93% in zakir husain college in chemistry(hons) course , was matching with my 12th percentage.Document verification was done followed by fee payment, and my seat was secured in the college.
Faculty
The faculty of my college is top notch. Besides, it depends upon the course and little bit of luck. But the difference is not at par. The teachers are mostly strict and require you to attend every lecture.
