Course Curriculum Overview
Eventhough the curriculum we studied was kinda outdated, still the university tries to improve the relevance of the syllabus every 4-5 years. But to generalise the syllabus we were taught was outdated and didnt have much in practical use. Exams are moderately difficult or more into easier side compared to nits and iits.
Internships Opportunities
Avergae amount of internships are available. 50% companies coming for placemnt itself takes interns first and then convert them to full time employees. We also have many govt funded projects like c2s which gives opportunity to students for internshops in iits.
Placement Experience
The placement cell here are very efficient and almsot everyone performing avg can get a placement here. You are given proper guidelines and placemnt trainings from 6th semester and you are being put on placemnt tests from 7th semester for different companies. Highest package - 39LPA AVERAGE PACKAGE - 8 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
As CET is a government finded college, there is no tuition fees or any other hidden charges. All you need to pay in a whole year is is approximately 10,000 rupees which includes your semester registration fees and your exam registration fees. I had to just pay almsot 39,000 for my 4 year btech course.
Campus Life
Very good college experience to be honest. Vast variety of clubs to join as per interest Some main clubs include Automobile building - Folium, Zenith, Herackles, Excelerators. IEDC Club Coding clubs. Dance club Cetalks Cetunes - music club Sports are also very much given importance here which is why cet football , handball and khokho teams stayed unbeaten for such a long time.
Admission
My primary focus was to get into this college itself taking into account of my keam ranks because this is the best college you can get into with your keam ranks. Its also the second best college in kerala after NITC. No my primary focus was to get into this colllege itself bit wanted to get cs or ece branch but couldnt get that because my keam ranks. I had 3660 as my keam rank.
Faculty
Almost a faculty to student ratio of 1:20 . Highly educated faculties but most of them wont take extra effort to teach the below average students. You have to come up yourself. Faculties keeps changing as it is a govt. College and probably get transfets every 2 years. There are a total of 48 university exams and almsot 90 internals exams.
Night Life
Very good nightlife around cet as we have many prominent food spots near kazhakotam which is approx 2 kms from cet. Whic also have technopark near it. Mens hostel doesnt have any curfew but ladoes hostel have 9:30 as their curfew as of now. You can roam Around cet itself anytime and its safe. Noone is gonna judge you and couples usually do it all the time. Just keep an eye on dtray dogs tho.
