Course Curriculum Overview

2

I choose this course because I wanted to pursue my career in veterinary. As a first step I wanted to get myself known with the Zoology of animals and as a minor subject i chose botany because the only one that made me interested. What they teach you certainly helps you in the real world not everything but most of or some of the things. The improvements I would like to incur would be printed journals because the department only makes you right everything just to teach you some of it. The exam dates are told to us 15 days prior to the exam and the gap between each exam is less.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my course was around 11000 per year. This was because I got admission under aided. The normal unaided fees was around 36000. The fee structure included tuition fees of 800 rupees, other fees of rs 200, laboratory fees of 1900, gym fees of 400, library fees of 200, college exam fee of 4000, deposit 800, identity card fees 100 rupees and etc. also the credit course fees cost 1000 rupees and online procedure he was hundred and university share was 400 rupees.

Campus Life

Festivals that are conducted in our college are Nazrana which is an cultural festival that is held that are college where any students from the college are allowed to participate in the program and present their talent. Then different departments in the college also host small competitions are events which you can also participate at. Then there is Aagaaz which is an inter collegiate socio cultural event conducted by nss unit of Guru Nanak Khalsa College. Where participants form different colleges and out their best players to participate in different events such as dance, singing, debate, quiz and also treasure hunt. The winners of this competition are presented with the trophy of the best college. Best trophy is a rolling trophy which means that it will be passed on to different college that wins next year or that your next again and if and college wins the competition three times in a row then they own the trophy. The library of the college mostly contains old history books. There is a projected the class which is vocationally used to present the study material of the teachers. There isn't much of sports in the college the most basic sports that the college has are ball badminton volleyball cricket. The student and social groups clubs or student portals mostly include student council, Leo club, then there is an NSS(National social scheme).

Admission

I also applied to Wilson and Xaviers College better percentage cutoff was too much saw the third number I got Guru Nanak Khalsa College which I immediately accepted because I wasn't fully aware of the admission process I had back them. My entire admission process was done online it was the first year I ever did that in 2020. After after covid this was the first time I ever applied for an college and I didn't know that there where four rounds. And during those rounds I had to keep changing the sequence of my colleges list but I didn't know that so I get the list same throughout the 4 rounds and got Khalsa College in special round. Valentine special exams that took place for admission in our college all you needed was a cut off of 75 or higher which would give you admission in Khalsa College

The faculty to student ratio is actually good there are many teachers that teacher different sections in the particular subject. Faculties are very much approachable but they don't keep you as your first priority instead you have to keep running behind them if you want something from them otherwise they don't listen to you. There are also some teacher that will insult you and degrade you on small things. And this is me saying regarding my department but are HOD doesn't listen to what we have to say and only exert her authority on us. She will taunt you and insult you on a daily basis. She will also try to instigate you again and again and when you lash out she will make sure that your parents are call and then will also Insult you in front of them. This kind of behaviour doesn't suit teachers who are meant to teach you not discourage you from learning. And I'm only giving 1star because of some good members that are still hopeful.

Night Life

4

There is a Gymkhana in the college which is open from the morning till 6 o'clock in the evening. The Gymkhana fees is around rs 1000 per month and it is 500 rupees for any sports player in college. There is an canteen at the ground floor of the college. The menu mostly inclues Indian cuisine and Chinese. And the library also opens at 9 o'clock morning and closest at 4 o'clock evening. There is also Starbucks rights beside the college. And there is also a garden under the bridge known as Maheshwari udyan students go to chill and study or do any extra curriculum activities they want.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
