As i am a civil student and jngec clg has a good reputation for civil students but there are not much placements in our college...for best placement upto 18lpa you can take textile course as it is the only one college in whole himachal with this course ....and due to its scarcity, placements are high in textile.

Campus Life

Talking about infastructure, its pretty good and even mess food is not that bad....Talking about the campus enviornment, it is ragging free and even seniors are friendly with freshers...for sports various games are conducted and even inter hptu tournaments are conducted all over himachal.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel life is awesome. Nice spacious rooms and friendly roommates and seniors. Meal quality i would give 6/10 Registration process for hostel is done itself in college by filling some forms and paperwork Here we don't have girls hostel...only boys hostel .. maybe in some time girls hostel will be available as it is under construction.

Admission

In ranking our college it is given a good rank among other colleges in himachal pradesh. I applied for many colleges through hpcet and got jngec as it has a good rank among other colleges. I also gave jee mains and advance but wasn't able to get admission in nit or iit. For jngec, one can give hpcet exam

Faculty

Faculty and student ratio is around 30:70 and nice teachers Many type of clubs are there like sports committe , art committe, nss , ncc , dance, music committes or you can also say clubs..... Per semester exams or test are taken.

Night Life

Gym is available but no good machines. Main gate closes at 10pm and after that nobody is allowed to go outside. College is situated at the top of a mountain so like theres forest around the college and closet market is like 10 mins far.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

I took civil because is good and all teachers are on there post and are very good. Civil engineering plays very important role in construction of buildings and dams etc. Exams are mostly held in September November and December for odd sem and for Even sem it is feb April and may.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

My other options were both private colleges which I've stated earlier. They both are very imfamous colleges. But also tgere is a lot of students who took admission there. Life of a Student at JNGEC Mandi

I chose this college than other colleges due to its name and reputation above other Himachal pradesh technical univery based colleges and its results and placements of the textile engineering branch which surely went over 18lpa in 2023.i got rejected when I applied in csab for nit hamirpur and then I got not other choice than the hptu colleges.the admission process is quite simple , you have to apply your form in himtu website and then wait for the offline rounds of btech and then go the designated place for entry rounds....Read More
