I still didnt do any internship.

Placements are very good. Almost every student who got passed will be placed atleast in a softwre company if he is rejected by the core company.

College Events

Spring fest-one of the india's largest social and cultural fest. Ksitij-asia's one of the largest techno management fest.

Fees and Financial Aid

Merit cum means-full tution fee wavier.

Campus Life

Campus life is very nice.gender ratio is almost 1:10labs are fine. Some labs are advanced. Sports and other competions are very intersting and competitive. Robotics is very interesting and actively participated by the students.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are average, fees is ok but mess food is somewhat annoying. We have to adjust a lot with the mess food.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

We have an alumni cell. Students from this cell organise all the alumni activites etc and we have an alumni meet every year.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Campus life at IIT KGP
