Remarks
There was a problem of water in toilets as it wasn't available after 4pm. But we complained to our principal and she solved it within a week. The only negative impression of my college is present no more.
Course Curriculum Overview
My college is affiliated with University of Calcutta which is the top university of India this year. So the course curriculum is undoubtedly healthy. This course is e 3 year course. The yearwise exam structure is given below- 1st year- 1st language (50marks), 2nd language (50marks), honours subject (150theory+50practical), 1st elective subject (100marks), 2nd elective subject (100marks) 2nd year- honours subject (150theory+50practical), 1st elective subject (100theory+100practical), 2nd elective subject (100theory+100practical) 3rd year- honours subject (250theory+150practical) N.B.: In case of non-lab based subjects, marks described as practical parts will also be described as theory parts.
Placement Experience
See, this a college for fundamental knowledge courses though there are courses like journalism or computer related courses which are pretty likely to be listed as courses of which students can get job after graduation, and there's a yearly job-fair(campus interview actually). But in case of B.A/B.Sc no company is ready to want them as employee simce they're here for fundamental knowledge. No, my college doesn't provide any internship or stipend. But in case of any economic problem, there are some people to help like our principal.
College Events
The events celebrated per year in my college are- Republic day, Independence day, Teacher's day,Annual sports, job fair, College fest, lots of seminars and workshops organised by respective departments, cultural programs etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
No the fees structure is not expensive. It's less than most other colleges in kolkata. The most expensive course in my college is microbiology of which admission fee is nearly ?30,000/year. Usually fees of B.Sc courses are greater than B.A courses.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, there's no knowledge of scholarship or loan facility I do have. But I think no one would need a loan due to its non-expensive fees structure. Most people should afford the admission and other fees.
Campus Life
The labs are pretty good. Every department has yearwise separated labs. The instruments are very likely to be operable and they're maintained continuously. Our college has a playground in front of it where the students can play outdoor games. And indoor games like table-tennis, carrom are available also. There holds a annual sports to motivate students to play also.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not that much visible to current so I can't comment on that but the seniors are really helpful. Though there's no record of ragging by seniors in our college, there exists a anti ragging cell as a precaution but that's never ever used because the seniors treats juniors like their own brother and help them in any condition. Even I've pleasant memories of playing games, organising departmental events with our seniors.
Admission
After publication of result of 12th, I applied for this course on the college website and uploaded the required documents. Then paid the application fees and waited for the publication of merit list. My name was in the 1st admission list so I went to the college on the declared date and time and got admitted to this college.
Faculty
The faculties of my college are friendly in nature. They're also dedicated to work. Sometimes they don't give priorities to general course students as well as honours students but that's not the permanent scenario. When it comes about knowledge, they give their best to help the students no matter in what course you're studying.
