With the ongoing brand of college “THAPAR INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY “, I think nobody should lose the chance of getting the admission in it. Moreover, it gives a person quite good exposure which will help him move forward in his life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good. Their are 8 semesters in total of 4 years of Engineering. Their are mid semester exams followed by end semester exams in each semester. Also there are quizzes in each semester which accounts for nearly 25% of marks.
Placement Experience
The placement are quite good. There are many software and IT companies approaching the college along with some of the electronics and mechanical companies. One needs to be very thorough with the computer languages and basic skills so as to grab a good package. The college does not give internship.
College Events
Mudra - music and dramatics. Virsa- festivals of punjab where many cultures of punjab are highlighted. Thapar food festival- many brands of food and drinks approach the college and it is like an eating fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive. The overall fee structure includes 1.5-2 lakhs rupees per semester including hostel and mess with laundry. The whole degree of 4 years can cost upto 15-16 lakhs rupees. This is quite expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various loan facilities from various banks organised for the college students which can be available at very nominal rate of interest. Moreover, there are many scholarships by the college. For example- if a person scores in the top 5% of the stream strength then his/her tuition fees will be waived off.
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities are also good. It includes all the sports such as cricket, football, basketball and swimming with proper facilities and area. The labs are also good. For every particular subject there is a lab assigned.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is too good. The newly built hostels are built with all the modern facilities and with the best technologies. It feels like you are residing in a top class hotel. the latest hostel can accomplish 600 students.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has a alumni network. It conducts meeting and party after a well assigned period of time. Seniors are also very helpful. They can help you at any time regarding studies and other affairs.
Admission
The admission is held through JEE MAINS marks. First of all there is online counselling followed by 3 rounds of in-person counselling. The people get their preferred branch mainly in the online round of counselling.
Faculty
The faculty is quite good and knowledgeable. There are some professors who are quite easy to approach, and you can mail them or even call them and they are ready to help even in the middle of the night.
