Course Curriculum Overview

4

The branches Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and many other specialization courses have not much of a diffrence. At max these branches will have 1 subject different every semester otherwise no. These courses also help you during the placements, not much as they teach us only basic to intermediate stuff which would be required only in the academics and not placements, but yes helpfull nevertheless.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies come for roles like Front end development, Back end development, Full stack development, AI/Ml engineer, Java Developer, Python developer and many more, regarding IT background branches. And they offer projects to do under the time of internship, which are associated with the role

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for campus placements from 4th year onwards and intership + PPO offers from 3rd year itself. The highest package offered was 38.5 LPA by the company GoDaddy, following by Nvidia with 30LPA. Every year 75-80% of the students get placed, including both on and off campus leaving the rest 20% opt for higher studies. Im currently unplaced and the college is still helping me out. After getting the degree I have decied to do job for 2-3 years and then opt for masters degree overseas.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year I had paid the fees of approximately 1.8 lakhs per year, becaue I was from general category. Some of my friends were from the OBC category, but I dont know their fees, surely less than mine. Yes, also there was a scholarship method during the fees, after which surely the fees would be reduced.

Campus Life

4

There are many fests that are held in the college named VISHWAKARANDAK, VISHWOUTSAV and MELONGE. The library has many books of all kinds which can help a student from any branch solve their doubts. The faculties teach us via chalkboard, whiteboard or use of projector. Apart from all this, there are many clubs in the college including robotics club, dance club, drama club and also entreprenuership club, etc.

Admission

Except for VIT, Pune, I had applied to colleges like PCCOE, PICT and etc colleges located in Pune itself. My JEE rank was around 77000 or 91.12 percentile and my CET percentile was 96.4, so I couldnt get into PICT. Even if i wanetd to get into PICT, i was getting the EnTC branch, which i didnt want. The admission process included firstly of CAP round followed by SPOT round. The cutoff for various branches depends on the CET and JEE Merit rank/percentile that you have got and on the basis of that youll get the branches in CAP or SPOT round.

Faculty

4

The total number of fuculites in the college must be around 60-80 including all the branches. They are very well trained and know what they are teaching, they help the students with easy and no temper, and also thier way of making the students understand the problems faced is also pretty good. Whereas, there are a few faculties which dont know how to solve problems, would try to run away from it and tell you to meet them in their cabin. They also dont know how to teach, will tell the students to distribute the topic among themselves and ask them to present infront of the class, and thats how we teach ourselves and also others. There are total 8 exams throught the 4 years, 4 mid semester exams and 4 end semester exams with difficulty ranging from intermediate to hard.

Interview Experience

4

The topics of GD included hot topics regarding AI or communication or business throught the world. You need to have knowledge of everything that is happening near you. The process might vary from company to company. First round includes GD or online assessment or even resume shortlisting, followed by 2-3 rounds of interviews and then a HR interview.

Night Life

4

The famous place to hang out near the college is called KHAU-GALLI, which also means eat street. Many such places inside the colleges include boat club, 2-3 caffetaria spots and auditorium or even the parking places, one of them is most famous and is called MINUS 2. The locality is very safe to roam around the nightime as it is filled with college students of VIT.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
