Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum at PCCOE follows the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) guidelines, and it is quite structured and well-balanced. I chose this course mainly because it includes both core theoretical concepts and hands-on practical learning, especially through labs, mini-projects, and industry-oriented workshops. The curriculum gives a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and also helps in developing technical, analytical, and communication skills which are useful for both placements and higher studies. The college regularly conducts value-added courses, industrial visits, and guest lectures to bridge the gap between academics and real-world applications. PCCOE places a lot of focus on project-based learning. From the second year onwards, students work on small projects and by the final year, they complete a full major project often guided by industry mentors. This helps in applying theoretical knowledge to practical use cases — very helpful for placements and research. Also, a few subjects are slightly outdated because of the university’s fixed structure, though teachers do their best to make them relevant with extra content. We get alot of time for exams preparation as there is no mid term

Internships Opportunities

4

TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, Tech Mahindra – Software Developer, System Analyst, Data Analyst Siemens, Honeywell, KPIT, L&T – Embedded Systems, Electronics & Communication Projects, Testing & Quality Engineering Stipends range from ?5,000 – ?15,000 per month for most IT/Software internships Core branch internships (ENTC/Mechanical) usually provide ?3,000 – ?10,000 per month depending on company and project complexity Some internships are unpaid but provide strong learning opportunities and certificate recognition.... During internships, students work on real-world projects such as: Software development projects: Building web apps, mobile apps, and data analytics dashboards Embedded Systems & IoT: Designing smart devices, sensors, automation systems Electronics & Communication: Circuit design, signal processing projects, RF modules Outcome: Students get practical exposure, project reports, and certificates, which strengthen resumes and increase placement chances

Placement Experience

3

For 5th semester students become eligible for internship (stipend based)...And from 7th semester for placements. TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, Tech Mahindra – for software roles Larsen & Toubro, Honeywell, Siemens, KPIT, Bosch, Persistent Systems – for core engineering roles (ENTC, Mechanical, IT) Other startups & IT product companies also visit for internships and full-time offers. Highest Package: Around ?24–28 LPA (mainly for CSE/IT students in product-based companies like Goldman Sachs, Amazon, TCS iON, etc.) Average Package: Around ?4.5–6 LPA for core and IT companies, and ?3.5–5 LPA for ENTC students. Each year, over 90% of CSE/IT/ENTC students get placed. Branch-specific placements may vary: CSE usually sees 95–98% placements, ENTC around 85–90%, and other branches slightly lower. I'm planning for higher degree (mtech)

Fees and Financial Aid

I’m a student of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE), Akurdi, and here’s my experience about the fee structure and scholarships. The yearly fee for open category students is around ?1.45–1.65 lakh, and it increases slightly every year (about ?5–10k). It includes tuition, development, university, and other small charges. One-time caution money (~?1,000) is refundable. For reserved categories, the fees are much lower: OBC/EWS: ?80,000 – ?90,000 per year NT/TFWS: Around ?20,000 – ?30,000 SC/ST: Barely ?3,000 – ?5,000 (almost free) Hostel fees are separate (~?1 lakh per year including mess). The college provides various scholarships like: EBC (Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Yojana) – 50% tuition fee waiver SC/ST Freeship – full tuition & exam fee Minority & Merit-cum-Need scholarships TFWS scheme for top scorers with low income Overall, PCCOE’s fees are reasonable for the facilities and placements offered, and scholarships make it affordable for deserving students.

Campus Life

4

There are alot of activities going on beside studies...we have swartarang on January where students perform they are offered to explore their hobbies....Various clubs are there robotic club enterpreneurship cell.. Libraries include all the req books for academics. Sports are less explored section honestly girls don't even participate in any sports very few no of girls are their for sports...we have badminton as well as basket ball court in our campus. There is a big ground for football too.. There are motor teams run by students for academic purpose there is gate clubs top that help students to achieve there goal.

Hostel Facilities

4

Three sharing rooms with fans for girls and Ac for boys.Study table with chair is also given and matress a big mirror... Coming to the food 3 time meal is provided the menu have variations but sometimes the food is too bland.. Hostel is purely cgpa based and quite affordable too... There is a lot of pg near the college so if you don't want hostel you can opt for that too

Admission

When I applied for engineering colleges, I considered a few options including MIT Pune, Sinhgad College of Engineering, and Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT, Pune). I also got confirmed admission offers from MIT Pune and Sinhgad College. I chose PCCOE because: 1. Strong Placement Records: PCCOE has one of the best placement cells in Pune, especially for ENTC, CSE, and IT branches. Many reputed companies visit every year, which gave me confidence about job prospects. 2. Quality Faculty & Teaching: The professors are highly experienced, approachable, and supportive for projects and internships. 3. Campus Life & Infrastructure: PCCOE has modern labs, smart classrooms, and active student clubs for technical and cultural events. 4. Value-for-Money Fees: Compared to MIT Pune and other private colleges, PCCOE fees are reasonable, and multiple scholarships and government waivers are available. I get rejected from coep as my score was bit low for their branch Admission process is through mhtcet and jee Cutoff are 150-200 for open

Faculty

4

The faculty members at PCCOE are quite knowledgeable and experienced, especially in the ENTC, Computer, and IT departments. Most professors hold M.Tech or Ph.D. degrees, and they emphasize both theoretical and practical learning. They regularly guide students for projects, research papers, and competitions. The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:20, which allows good individual attention. Teachers are generally approachable and supportive — you can easily reach them for academic doubts, mentorship, or even personal guidance. Many professors also help students with mini-projects, hackathons, and placement preparation. I personally liked jagtap sir he was my Chemistry teacher in first year being an outsider he made me feel comfortable and also he was excellent guide. There is no as such teacher whom I don't like. There is total 3 exams.Fa1, Fa2 which is of 10-10 marks and then comes SA which is end sem of 30 marks we also have practical overall the papers are easy if you have studied.Question are asked on the basis of what teachers teach whole semester.

Night Life

3

Honestly there is no nightlife for girls if you're in hostel you have your intime 9pm and fir boys it's 10.Reading hall is open for girls till 8pm and for boys it's 12 am. Girls can use gym from 6pm to 7pm and cafeterias shut down by 9pm. Inside you can always sit inside canteen and outside you can go to ganesh talav it is very close to gate4 of the college... The locality is safe as mostly colonies where local residents live...

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
