Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choose this college because it's the oldest and most known college in maritime industry. They have the asia largest workshop. The placement scenario is also great here. The thing which they need to improve is the infrastructure and some faculty members which are just there for the money not for knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are various types of internships which college provides you or the faculty members provide you in various dockyards, small ships, online session or on other campuses. This helps to enrich the capability of the student and makes him more confidence towards his/her goal.

Placement Experience

5

The placement scenario of my college is very great around 95% student get placed every year. This is the only government which offer such type of placement. You do not have to worry about the placements but remember you have to work hard for the same.

Fees and Financial Aid

the total fees for the period of 4 years is 900000 which includes all the tuition fees, hostel fees and all other accommodations. The fees are same for every category people but students can get scholarship according to their state and category.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is good as you get to live around various types of people with different culture, religion and region all around the india. There are many groups like placemnt group, dance and cultural group, bands and parade group, sports and many things which you are interested in.

Hostel Facilities

3

According to me the hostel infrastructure need to be improved as its very old building. Water gets stored in some of the areas in rainy days and the hostel mess food quality is also very bad which is totally not worthy.

Admission

I choose this college because everyone suggested me this college and it's one of best government colleges for merchant navy in india. The admission process for this college is that you have to give imucet exam and then go through the counselling, if you are worthy then you will surely get this college.

Faculty

4

The facultys are the passouts of this college so they have so much knowledge about the marine engineering but there are some faculties which are of no use. And about the exam system, at the end of every semester exam is conducted which is of 70 marks and you have to score 50% marks to pass the exam including the practical examination.

Night Life

4

The nightlife is also very interesting here as it's compulsory for everyone to live in hostel and gates get closed in 11 pm. So you can have to spend time with your friends or you can interact with your juniors or seniors.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
