Engineering College - The Disciplined One

The College make sure that all students are engaged in some activity and don't waste their time doing unwanted things, which is a positive thing according to me, but some might find it disturbing. Even the student coordinators keep the students motivated in order to achieve great scores.

Well, the course curriculum is revamped for this year's batches and is improved a lot by including many recent trends in the subjects which allows students to not only study laws and stuff but also new discoveries and researches. The Exam consists of 80 marks written exam and 20 marks for the internal assessment per subject. Some subjects also have practical exams of about 25 marks. Project is also introduced in Final year which has 200 marks total.

The placement and job opportunities are quite "above average" and max salary jobs provide is about 5-10 LPA. About 75-80% students get placed in companies and industries.Our college has started providing internships to students of B.Tech, and has made mandatory for all. Most of the internships are unpaid.

Events celebrated in college include Annual Gathering once a year which includes dancing, singing, and other cultural programs. Project Exhibitions also take place at the end of each year. Various groups are created like biking club and hiking, photography club, etc which helps students to make themselves comfortable with the environment.

The fees structure is feasible and is about 1 Lakh. Students can also avail scholarship provided by the government which can go upto 50% of the college fees. Students with SC/ST/OBC caste have less fees (about ?7000-40000).

Actually, the government provides scholarships to students so they can study in the college. Like the government pays 50% of the students fees and so on. There are even hostel scholarships which pay the students (with poor background) the hostel rent.

Sport activities like cricket, badminton, basketball, etc are carried out each year and the winning team even gets rewards. The labs have most of the equipment which is required for curriculum. There are different labs for different uses.

I have opted for hostel and have been living there since 3 years. The rooms are clean and neat, and there are comfortable beds for everyone. Hostel capacity is about 450 students. The electricity is always on and there are sufficient lights to lit the place.

During the Alumni Meet, the Alumni help the currently studying students to concentrate on specific subjects which in turn help the students for passing interviews and getting jobs. The senior students are very friendly and some of them even treat the juniors as there little brother, helping them to stand on their own foot.

I got admission through CAP Rounds, which were held by AICTE. I did my diploma and earned 78% and registered for the CAP round through AICTE web portal. Then I listed my Intrested colleges according to my preference. Then about total 3 round were carried out in order for a student to take admission as per the Cut-Off percentage (different for each round). Student gets alloted to a college per round, and he/she can confirm the seat from online portal. Then the student has to go to the specific college for admission.

The faculties are friendly but can get very strict when it come to discipline and studies. They help the students to understand the reality of what happens after graduation and what we should do in some cases, mistakes students do, and tells the students to avoid such mistakes.
