College Review

There more than 120 engineering colleges in WB. Our college is one of them. There are many problems and neg. points about my college. But at the end of the day i can say that our college is in a much much better situation than the most of the colleges.

I think the course is so much theory oriented. It should be changed. Syllabusand the exam should be more and more practical oriented. Exam structure of my college is Semester system. Nothing wrong with the semester system. But the supplie and resupplie exam should be took place with in a few days from result out.

Yes they provide interenship but the no. of internships are very less. It is only for few students with a greater academic records and all. Placement scenario is very critical. Software companies only come for offering a job. No of such companies also very poor. Few mass recruters also there. There is a very less probability to get a job if you are from a core background. If you are from CS,IT,ECE then you have to bear less pain.

Our college is very much enthusiastic about study only. College fests,tech fest are not regular. Few departments organise their departmental fests. Same scenario in the Sports and the cultural events also.

Quite expensive. For four years B.Tech degree you have pay approx 4-5 lakhs apart from fooding and lodging. Private college sucks. If your family earning is not so much then you have to take an educational loan.

I dont know about this. Never heard about this aslo. Some schorlarships for the SC,ST and the girl students and the wards of the ex-military men are there. Beside those there is tfw quota for the student whose family is under a certain level.

Labs are small as per number of students. Few labs are good. But they need to be rearranged and reinnovate all those set ups. There is'nt any ground inside the campus. There is a small ground 5-6 minutes distance from college. Few sporting enthusiasts are there. Only by the help of them sporting culture of our college till exists. Few faculty members are aslo there they cheers up students. Carrom, Badminton, TT and Kabadi are the popular one. In Badminton and kabadi few good players are also there who represents themselves in state level or district level.

Our college has'nt any hostel facility. To solve the ragging and other problems they never start hostel facility. Another problem is the whole locality is based on the College and it's students. So the local folks do not want that college comes with the hostel facility. There are so many mess and PGs for the students. Rent + meal charges you have to pay 3500-5500 rupees per month. Though the food quality is not upto the mark, very poor.

No so much. Few of them are in contact with college. They response if and only if college officially ask them for helps or something. Otherwise everyone busy with their own life and problems. Some exceptions are also there.

By securing rank in WBJEE Exam and after that i had to go through the counselling process. There i had to fill my choice of colleges and streams.After that i got the admission in my college.As simple as that.

Faculties are good. They are qualifie. But no offence qualification is not the everything in the teaching process. If they would little bit more humble, more student friendly then it might helps a lot. Otherwise there is a barrier between the students and teachers.
