Honest experience of GMRIT

I am a CSE-AI&ML student. So according tothe curriculum, the specific aspects that influenced my decision to choose this course is : the curriculum invloves Machine Lerning and Artificial Intelligence which the latest emerging technologies. I dont feel there are any improvements needed in the curriculum. The difficulty in the 1st mid-term exam is quite because we get enough time to prepare ,but coming to 2nd mid-term exams we have continous exams like mid 2 ,internals , externals and next semexams . So all one by one . So it becomes quite difficult to study.

A month internship is provided in the 4th sem and full semester internsip is provided in the 7th or 8th semester. I got a one month intership at hastek solutions in my 4th sem. I am in my 6th sem now, so I will be getting an FSI in the next semester .

This year over 95% of the students were placed. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, L&T visited. The students from the final year i.e 7th and 8th sem students are eligible for the placements. Highest package- 40LPA average package- 4.55LPA lowest package- 2.5 to 3.0 LPA My plans after getting the degree is do M.Tech

1st year- college fee -INR 85550, hostel fees-INR 99000 2nd year - college fee- INR 86050, hostel fee- INR 99000 3rd year - college fee- INR 86059 , hostel - INR 99000 JVD is available for some eligible students.

There are two major fests Stepcone and Annual day. Stepcone generally occurs in the month of February, but this year it is in January. Annual day occurs in the month of April. The library has over 68000 books. It has also access to IEEE, springer,etc GMRIT is well known for its sports facilities. It has almost all the requirements many games. It has also has a gym and a 400m running track. Our college has many clubs like music , dancing, singing, Radio, games, diiferrent student chapters like ISTE , CSI,ACM, ACMW etc

The hostels room are quite ok. The rooms will be cleaned everyday and washrooms are also cleaned everyday. Hygiene is maintained. The meal menu is decided my the student food committee of the hostel. Snacks are also provided in the evening. Chicken is provided every wednesdayand egg is provided thrice a week.

When i applied in the Eamcet based ranking i applied for colleges like GVP, Anits, GMRIT, Sivani, Aitam, MVGR,etc Out of which i got GMRIT. I got a rank of 10000 and I belong to OC. so i didnt make it in Anits and GVP because of my rank. The admission process of my college is based on the cutoff rank which is different for different caste and different branches. And students can also join through management quota.

The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:6. The faculty are friendly and approachable. They clarify the doubts anytime during the college hours. They help us in our projects. I liked the teaching of Srinivas sir a lot. He explained maths in 1st year. I dont dislike any faculty. The best faculties are Akila Agnes mam. She explains in a way that student can easily understand. For a year there will be two Semester exams and for each Semester exam there will two mid-term exams , internals and externals. The course curriculum is very relevant accorinding to the branch which aligns with the lastest technologies.

No, I didnt face any Group Discussion, Interview or written test for the admission process in GMRIT because it was purely based on my Eapcet rank. There will be cuttoff rank for each branch based on the category or caste.

My favourite hang out spot is canteen and coffee shop where i can chill with my friends. At night girls dont have permission to move around the campus. they can roam only upto6pm . If anyone wants to go to library they can take a library passand go return back before8pm. College is from 9am to 4pm .
