Course Curriculum Overview

5

First and foremost , the course in question in Bcom Hons. The course is highly relevant and suggested to students pursuing their career in finance . Course curriculum is directly complimentary to CA foundation syllabus. Further , the Internal and continuous assesments challenges us to get out of our comfort zone via , regular class presentations , for example. The difficulty of the exam is on the moderate level, almost all students pass their exams unless or until they aren't fully prepared due to whatsoever circumstances.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship cell of the college is pretty much active. They regularly update about internship openings in respective course groups . Various roles are offered depending upon your course. In case of bcom hons, for example , internships roles include interns in marketing , AI , finance , HR , consulting and project management including more generic roles are junior project coordinators .

Placement Experience

5

Placements i would say are quite decent and ROI is great as compared to the course fee . Top recruiters include Deloitte , KPMG , EY , PwC , Accenture , De shaw , Wipro etc. The average package ranges from 5-7 lpa. While the highest may touch 20+ lpa. However, All the students do not opt for placements. Many go for MBA or higher studies , some continue to pursue their professional courses. However , out of all the students willing to get placed , 80% and more of them are easily placed. My personal plans after the degree include CAT or GMAT and MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the entire course is very affordable . The annual fee ranges from 28,000 to 35,000 depending upon one's course . My fee for first year was 31,435 INR, bcom hons. There are numerous scholarships available for students from financially underprivileged background.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest of hansraj is called "Confluence" which may be a 2 or 3 days event. The campus gets very vibrant and lively during these events and fests. Musicians and artists are invited to perform while various inter college competitions are held. Societies hold events almost every month ranging from society oriented annual events or simpler yet valuable speaker sessions. The campus life is one word is very "happening" , especially during fests and events. As far as facilities are concerned , books are easily available for issue . Computer labs are accessible to students for technical work. Many students are involved in sports and equipments are provided for the same.

Admission

I didn't apply for any other universities since i was certain that I'll get into DU. I was allotted hansraj college in the first allocation round and i didn't opt for further upgrade and freezed my admission. The admission process is very simple , everything is digitalised to most of the extent. The physical verification of documents is done once before the semester exams. In order to get into my college or say , to get into Delhi University , the entrance examination is the CUET . The cutoff varies every year and highly depends on scores on the students.

Faculty

5

The faculty members in my college are very approachable and amiable. Professors are highly qualified with many holding PhDs in their respective niches. The faculty members of commerce department , specifically , consists of amiable and helpful individuals. As far as examination is concerned, semester examinations are held twice a year , once in December - January and the other before summer break around May. The course curriculum is highly relevant and NEP made it even better for students. The optional papers (vac, sec, aec, ge) help us learn and explore things from broader perspective . I myself opted for English as my GE to pursue my interest in literature alongside a completely different course , that is , bcom hons.

Night Life

5

I'm a day scholar and hence can't really comment about nightlife myself. However , there are various markets near the college campus. One of them is called the kamala nagar market. One can get wide variety of clothes , footwear , gyms, gaming cafes, stationaries, tech products , fast food chains and cafes in the market. The PGs are located around the same area. Hence the market is easily accessible to the students who live near the campus. The metro is available at 25 minutes of walking distance , hence nearby hangout places can be explored . The locality is very much safe to roam around for students , as said by my friends.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
