The college is situated at a very beautiful place named Siliguri which is the gateway to the hills the whether is very beautiful the campus is not that big but is fully green it is in the middle of a tea garden.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen b.tech with the branch of electronics and communication engineering. In future the jobs are more likely to be in electronics so I choosed this branch. Exams are taken semster wise in every six months.one have to go through 2 internal exam and one semster exam including lab exams and viva.
Placement Experience
There is placements and job opportunities The college have a long list of companies that provides jobs and Internships to the students. Every year many students are getting jobs but not everyone gets a job. Because the company looks for skills and personality. If one lacks these things he cannot get a job but still gets chance to go through the process of companies
College Events
There are many different events are celebrated all over the year. When the new season satrts we have fresher's welcome after which we have national science day, cultureal fest, tech fest, bollywood night , farewell ceremony , sarswati puja and many more events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Siliguri institute of technology takes around 80000 at the time of admission which includes many different things like bus rent , Uniform charge and many thing in the second semester they charge around 60000 And which they charge 42000 per semester for the rest of the semesters
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college do not provide any scholarship. And they do not offer any kind of loan.if one wishes to get loan he/she have to go to the bank and then they can get it. Government scholarship is there like TFW(TUTION FEE WAIVER) from the west Bengal government.
Campus Life
There is a Jim where fitness freak's can spent time and there we also have the a space for indoor games such as table tennis carum board etc but there is no big playground for outdoor game like cricket or football. All we have is a small playground.
Hostel Facilities
Yes there are hostels for both girls and boys They take around 60000 per year. The hostels are their for only first year students After which they don't have this facility. This charge includes foods also and internet is provide in this charge
Alumni/Alumna
I don't no much about the alumni but the senior students are quite helpful in nature.we have a alumni meet during the first year Induction program but that didn't happen last year.seniors and frendly and very helpful.
Admission
I got the college by appearing in the west Bengal joint entrance exam and I have to go through the counciling and then i got Siliguri institute of technology and then I have to go for document verification after they verify the required documents such as 10th and 12th marks sheet ,admit card they admitted me.
Faculty
The faculty is good but not the best. There are professors which are to good at what they do and professors which are not that good although most of them are very helpful and all the professors took their class according to the schedule.they finishes the slybus on time.overall faculty are good at there jobs
