The best government college for seafarers.

There's no negative remark. Only positive. If a student aspiring career in shipping field then one should not think before getting admitted to this college. Especially our college it teaches not only about the course but also discipline and etiquettes.

The course is very good for a seafarer aspiring life students. The exam consists of 200 marks in which Mathematics (11th-12th basis), English, Physics, Chemistry and General Aptitude are asked. No negative marking is there. For general category students atleast you should be getting below 2000 rank to get a better campus for this course. And for the same you should be getting 120 plus marks out of 200 in the IMU CET examination.

Placement and job opportunities are good here. Every year the placement percentage is on an average 80%. All those who are all clear during the end of their course are almost placed in good companies. Internship is not required in this field because the first post in this field is itself a kind of internship.

Several events are celebrated here in my college. There is a huge auditorium built here where fests and different ceremonies are performed. In extracurricular activities sports is very much important here. All sports are played here.

Fee structure is almost better than private institutions of this field. Atleast half of that of private institutions. Annually fee is 2.25 lakhs per year which is to be submitted semester wise. This fee included everything hostel plus mess charges also. On every odd semester 1.25 lakhs and on every even semester 1 lakh is to be submitted.

A very good scholarship is provided by our university. Every semester course wise top 30 plus students of campus is provided with scholarships. This includes 1st one with amount of 1 lakh, next 16 with 75,000 each, and next 16 with 50,000 each. Loan facility is also good here one can apply for loan and study here no issues in that.

Extracurricular activities are an essential ingredient of the overall education. In our campus sports is an essential ingredient. All types of sports are available. Gymnasium is also here. An Olympic size swimming pool is available for training purposes.

In this university all campuses are residential only. So there is no option of opting of hostel. One has to stay in college hostel only. The fee structure earlier explained incudes all hostel fee also. No further fee is to be given. Not for mess charges also. Hostel infrastructure is very better than any other government colleges. A room consists of two students only not more than that. Separate washroom and bathroom are provided.

Alumni network here is very much powerful because they help in getting companies know about our college students. Senior students are very much helpful here. They teach us how to maintain proper etiquette and discipline.

First I gave IMU CET examination and then within a week the merit list with ranking was out. After that we have to select preference wise the course and it's respective campus atleast 5 preferences should be given. Then 1st list is out in which according to my 5 preferences I got my 3rd preference campus. Then I booked my seat by filling the counselling fee. After that second list came in which I got my 2nd preference campus, i.e., Training Ship Chanakya, Indian Maritime University Navi Mumbai Campus. According to my IMU CET rank I was unable to get my 1st preference college so I was happy with my 2nd preference only and I took admission here by approaching the institution on the prescribed day for document verification and all processes.

The faculties are generally retired captains. And it's actually far better because they have a wonderful experience about this field and they help us know about this field better. They help us in having a proper attitude and discipline also which is to be maintained on ship.
