Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate the course curriculum as fairly relevant and comprehensive, as it covers core subjects like DSA, DBMS, OS, Computer Networks, and software engineering, which influenced my decision to choose this course. The fundamentals provided are useful for placements and higher studies, but real-world application requires additional self-learning through projects, internships, and coding platforms. The curriculum is more theory-oriented in some subjects, and more hands-on, industry-focused tools and modern technologies could be added. Teaching methods can be improved with more practical sessions, live coding, and project-based learning. Exams are conducted each semester with internal tests and end-semester exams, and their difficulty level is moderate and manageable with regular study.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities through the college are available, but they are limited and not very consistent. A few companies and startups offer internships in roles like software trainee, web development, data entry, or basic technical support, and the stipend is either very low or sometimes unpaid. Most internships arranged by the college are short-term and more focused on certificates rather than deep industry exposure. The projects usually involve basic tasks like building simple websites, small apps, or documentation work, which helps in learning fundamentals but not advanced real-world skills. Serious and high-quality internships mostly need to be found by students on their own through platforms like LinkedIn, Internshala, or referrals. Overall, internship support from the college is average, and students have to take their own initiative to get meaningful industry experience.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, L&T, and a few startups visit the campus every year for technical and support roles. The average package is around 3–4 LPA, while the highest package for top performers goes up to around 8–10 LPA (varies by year and company). Around 60–70% of students get placed through campus drives, and others go for off-campus opportunities. The placement cell provides basic training and aptitude preparation, but students need to work on DSA, projects, and skills on their own. After completing my degree, I plan to either secure a good software role or pursue higher studies while continuing to upskill through internships and certifications

Fees and Financial Aid

College: G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Pune Course: B.Tech in Computer Engineering Batch: 2023–2027 Category: EBC 1. Year-wise Fees (as paid / to be paid) The fee structure is revised slightly every year as per the Fee Regulating Authority (FRA) and university charges. In my batch, the fees show a small increase each year mainly due to examination and miscellaneous charges. 1st Year (2023–24): ?82,000 (approx.) 2nd Year (2024–25): ?85,000 (approx.) 3rd Year (2025–26): ?88,000 (approx.) 4th Year (2026–27): ?90,000 (expected approx.) ???? Total fee for the complete 4-year course: Around ?3.4–3.6 lakhs (for EBC category, before scholarship reimbursement). ???? Trend: The overall fee is slightly increasing every year.

Campus Life

4

My overall campus life experience has been quite good, especially because of the events and clubs that keep things lively beyond academics. The college organizes annual cultural and technical fests, usually around the beginning of the year, which give students a good platform to participate, perform, and showcase their skills. The library has enough textbooks and reference books for our subjects, along with journals that are helpful during exams and project work. Most classrooms are equipped with projectors and basic digital facilities, which makes teaching more interactive. Sports facilities and extracurricular activities are available, and students are encouraged to take part in them. Student-run clubs and technical societies also help in building confidence, teamwork, and a sense of community on campus.

Hostel Facilities

2

I stayed in the college hostel, and the rooms had basic facilities like beds, study tables, cupboards, and shared/common washrooms, which were decent for student living. The mess food quality was average and sometimes repetitive, and honestly, the food was not good in the first two years. The hostel registration process was simple and affordable compared to private PGs, and rooms were allotted on a first-come basis. The hostel is located close to the campus, which saves travel time and is convenient for daily classes. However, the Wi-Fi connectivity in the hostel was poor in the first two years, which made online classes and project work difficult. Overall, the hostel life is manageable and helps in building friendships, but facilities can still be improved.

Admission

I chose G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management over some other private colleges mainly because of its decent reputation, placement record, infrastructure, and location in Pune. I had also applied to a few other colleges through CAP counseling, but I couldn’t secure higher-ranked government colleges due to my rank/cutoff, so this college was the best option available to me in my preferred branch. The admission process is done mainly through MHT-CET/JEE Main via CAP rounds, and management quota is also available. The cutoffs are moderate compared to top government colleges but reasonable for private institutions. The overall admission experience was smooth, with proper guidance from the college staff during document verification and seat confirmation.

Faculty

3

The faculty-to-student ratio is decent, and most teachers are approachable and helpful with doubts, projects, and exam preparation. Some faculty members are very good at explaining core subjects like programming, DBMS, and OS with practical examples, while a few rely mostly on PPTs and focus more on syllabus completion. The course structure follows the university curriculum and covers core computer engineering subjects, which is relevant but a bit theoretical in parts. The exam system is semester-based with internal assessments, practical exams, and end-semester university exams. The difficulty level of exams is moderate, and most students clear them with regular study. Overall, the curriculum builds a good foundation, but extra self-learning is needed for industry readiness.

Night Life

3

The nightlife around the college is mostly calm and limited, as the campus and hostels have fixed in-time, usually by late evening, and most facilities like the library, gym, and cafeterias close by night. After classes, students usually unwind by hanging out with friends in nearby cafés, small eateries, or just chilling around common areas before hostel curfew. Inside the campus, common areas and canteens are the main spots to relax in the evening. Outside the college, there are a few popular food joints and local hangout places where students go in groups. The locality is generally safe to roam around in the evening, but late-night outings are usually avoided due to hostel timings and limited transport. These small hangouts and group outings help balance academic stress and make college life more enjoyable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
