College review

As if we see from overall perspective it is standing on a good position in ranking of engineering colleges of India, as it is always among top 30 colleges. As world is growing very fast, so to hold good position and giving good service to society this college needs to improve itself in a continues manner.

Course curriculum is very nice and useful for any civil engineering project as I was in soil mechanics and foundation engineering course i.e. basic requirements of any civil engineering project. The GATE exam is of 100 marks with 65 no of questions out of which 30 questions are of 1 marks and 35 are of 2 marks. Questions can be MCQ type or numerical type. There is one-third negative marking for each wrong option in MCQ type and no negative marking for numerical type questions.

There are good opportunities of Placements for both the graduation degree and post graduation degree students. MHRD provide internship of 12400 to PG students who had cleared GATE exam. PhD scholar's are also getting 25000 scholarship from MHRD, DST and many more agencies. Even the UG students may get scholarship by writing different scholarship exams.

Many technical and cultural events were held during the my 2 year's of stay over there. Right now I don't remember the names of events but the events are there in every week. Annual events like Confluence, Techspardha, AutoKriti etc were held every year and many celebrities came there in cultural events, many renowned sports person for sport event, and many more personalities like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir, Pranab Mukherjee sir came there in convocation program

Fee structure is feasible for middle class. If you are getting scholarship then there is no problem from fee structure to even lower income class families. Most of the expenditure on students is given by the MHRD, DST etc departments for overall development of students.

Scholarship from MHRD to PG and PhD scholar's. Loan facility is available from the SBI bank inside the college premises or you can take from elsewhere, you will get loan on less interest rates as comparison to other colleges as it is NIT. I had taken loan from SBI bank and also I was getting scholarship of 12400/- pm.

Good sports facility (separate running track, football ground, tennis courts, badminton court, basketball ground, big swimming pool etc) gym facility for fitness freaks, well equipped lab with latest equipments and trained lab technicians. Medical facility free for all students from college dispensary.

Hostel infrastructure is good with nice ambience, daily cleaning facility, tasty and healthy food in the hostels. Good security in the hostel for students. Daily newspaper, single person rooms also available, LAN connection with good speed of internet.

Alumni network is very vast as it's alumni is working in all corners of world in many big and renowned companies like Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, LnT etc and they are very helpful for juniors for giving knowledge, guidance, job opportunities etc.

Students have to write the GATE exam after graduation. I had Cleared the GATE exam after civil engineering with good marks and then through CCMT Counselling (combined counselling for all NITs at that time) of 4 rounds then followed by spot round of counselling

Most of the faculty are having there education (graduation, post graduation, doctorate etc) from the IITs and all are well qualified along with helping nature towards everyone. Many faculty had written books which are well acknowledged by the aspirants everywhere. All the faculty are pioneer in research and development of their field along with many research papers in national and international journal and conferences.
