- Sometimes the quality of food is sacrificed in the mess.
- The schedule at the NIT Kurukshetra is very stressful, there is very less gaps between two consecutive papers and students have to work very hard for themselves.
- Also, some labs have very outdated computers.
Course Curriculum Overview
In terms of relevance the course structure is somewhat perfect the subjects are good. In the lab classes we are taught considering the real world scenarios. But in the 4.5 month of semester we have to give exams 3 times which makes it stressful.
Placement Experience
The college offers internships to the students from 3rd year onwards and students become eligible for the placements from the 4th year of college. The companies that visited this time to our college were Microsoft, Google, Deloitte, nab, swiggy and many more. I am planning to target the on campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
So, the fee structure at NIT Kurukshetra is based on two categories. The first category is based on the income basis and the other is for the reservation categories. The Students having their family income greater than 5 lakhs are supposed to pay INR 90,000 per semester(excluding hostel). The students with their family income lying in the range 1-5lakhs are supposed to pay INR 48,000 and below 1 lakhs are supposed to pay INR 29,000. Hostel fees is same for all the students which is approximately INR 45,000. Also, many students avail scholarships through other platforms while students also get scholarship from college, based on the performance of a particular semester. Also, the fees mentioned above includes all type of fees like lab fees, medical fees etc.
Campus Life
Our college conducts two fest, confluence(the cultural fest) and techspardha( the technical fest). There are a variety of clubs based on different categories like dancing,singing, management, aeromodeling, modeling and manh more.Also, the college conducts sports meet(Citius).
Hostel Facilities
Students from the first year are being alloted with a sharing room for the first year with an accomodation of 2 to 3 students and from 2nd year onwards we are being alloted with single rooms. The meal quality is okay most of the times but sometimes worsens and menu is based for a 3 times meals a day.
Admission
I got the admission to the college through the JOSAA and CSAB counselling and based on the percentile score of JEE we are alloted with a single college. The main reason for me selecting this college was that it is very near to my hometown.
Faculty
The faculty here at NIT Kurukshetra are very supportive and understanding. The course is divided into 8 semesters with on average 5-6 courses per semester. The exam includes two midsems and one end sem. The two midsems hold a weightage of 30 marks(15 marks each) and end sem of 50 marks with 20 marks lying in the teachers hand of attendance and class performance. Also, for the Practical subjects weighted marks are calculated with 1/4 marks from practicals and 3/4 from theory.
Night Life
The college offers facilities like gym, indoor badminton court, swimming pool, cricket, football grounds. The hostel timings for girls are 8.30 PM and for boys 10 PM. The famous hangout place includes the NIT lake and market place around college and NIT market.
