Remarks
I admire university's library a lot. It's one of the biggest in the whole state I suppose. You get to have books on almost each and every topics. Daily newspaper, magazines, in-built internet cafe. Besides these all students can study in there 24*7
Course Curriculum Overview
As I am B-tech graduate. So for the first year courses are from all the engineering stream. For the next three years, courses are pretty much from your domain in which you have opted engineering. Mine was ECE.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite good especially in CSE stream. There are some giant tech company who will come and get a mass recruitment. Although there are chances of getting job opportunities in almost each stream. No internships.
College Events
Being a university there are so many events to discuss on, but I will focussed especially on some of the top notch events starting with the mega event 'Jashan'. All the departments compete each other in different curriculum events such as singing, dancing, bhangra, quiz, drama etc. There are also some game based events such as 'Kick Off'(football) and Super6(cricket). Amidst all of these I always rooted for the Tech-fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure for the odd semesters were expensive I suppose but for the even semesters it's feasible. If you differ from the academic fee structures hostels were quite cheap and up for the grabs. Fooding fees will cost you a bit if you are relying on hostel premises only.
Fees and Financial Aid
They have fee waiver for those who are not able to actually pay the entire fee. But there have been a few criteria for that. You need to be in general category. You performance in the academics should at least be of note. There is no loan facilities as such.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are in a bunch. There are many interdepartment competition comprising of different sports such as basketball, football, cricket, hockey, university Olympics etc. Also there are tech-fests, jashan event.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I did. For the fee structure part I mostly covered in the upper section. I will rate hostels 7/10 based on all the parameters such as fooding, lodging and facilities. Talking about the facilities they provided tv, wifi and cleaniness and some indoor games such as table tennis.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, they definitely are. Being an alumni I always intend to help my juniors. When I was in college seniors always guided me and they talk about different opportunities and area of improvement which one should focus on to get succeed in their different field of expertise.
Admission
It was entirely based on JEE-Mains marks. I applied through online councelling for PTU colleges. Few days after results were declared in which I got GNDU, Amritsar as my college of graduation. Then I needed to get to the college on specified date to pay admission fee. After all that and some formalities my admission got confirmed.
Faculty
Overall faculty is good. Some of them are really good, they focused equally on theoretical and practical knowledge aspects. Although you might need to learn some Punjabi, If you really interested in hearing lectures. I would rate 7 out of 10 to college faculty.
