HIT- Haldia

Positive remarks is that college infrastructure is unparalleled and cannot be compared to any other colleges in West Bengal under WBUT. Also its core branch is the best in Makaut. Also extracurricular activities are promoted in this college. Major let down is the placements and bad connection in between Haldia and other cities outside west bengal because of lesser no of trains.

Course curriculum is based on the MAKAUT Syllabus. Its a syllabus which is followed by almost 190 colleges all over West Bengal. Exams are held regularly in 6 months. There are 2 internals or mid sems in between semesters.

Placements are above average overall. Its 100% for CSE, IT branches. Most of the companies visiting are software sector companies. Chemical Branch students are also well placed because many Chemical Companies are based here in Haldia. Core sector placement are okayish. Not great I would say above average. Many core companies come but they recruit 2-3 students. Major recruiters are Amazon, Flipkart, Haldia PetroChemicals, Infosys, wipro, TCS, Byjus, Vedantu, Adani Wilmar , Adani Gas, Berger, Indian Cements, Simplex, Johnson Control etc.

Many events are held in the college be it cultural or technical. Many international and national seminars are conducted every year organised by different departments. College have many cultural events like Rang Milanti, AP, Annual Cultural Meet etc. Also Prayukti, annual Tech Fest is one of the biggest tech fest of Eastern India's College. Riviera being the cultural fest also attracts many famous celebrities.

Fees structure is very feasible as compared to other private colleges. Tuition fees is 42,000 per semester and hostel fees are 12,000 per semester. Its very feasible and cheap as compared to other colleges.

I haven't availed any kind of scholarships or any loan facility in the college but I do know about a TFW scheme where if you being a West Bengal domicile, you are eligible for 100% scholarship of tuition fees. Also if you are your branch topper, Tution fees are reimbursed.

This College is known for its extracurricular activities. Many clubs are there be it robotics club, SAE club, IEEE, IETE, CSI, ACM, IEI etc. I would say for core branch its the best college in West Bengal because of the presence of motorsports teams like Formula student and Gokart. It also have the only Formula Student from a Private college in West Bengal and only second in West Bengal after IIT KGP.

Hostel fees are 12,000 per semester. Very good hostel. They are total 12 hostels for boys and girls in the campus. All are well maintained. 3 students per room. GYM facilities available with cricket, football, basketball, volleyball ground. Also Table tennis, badminton also played here.

Senior students are very helpful. They guide us a lot. They help us in our preparation. They guide us for the placements and entrance exams. Ragging is punishable here as of now. Alumni connection is good. Every departments have their own Alumni Meet.

Applied through JEE Mains rank via WBJEE Counselling. Got this college in the 1st round itself. My rank was around 70k. First did the slot booking by paying 20K and then confirmed my admission later on by visiting the college during seat allotment

Faculties are good. I would say above the most of faculties you found at other colleges in west Bengal. All of them are MTech passed, some experienced teachers are PhD holders and some are doing their PhD.
