Remarks
One thing that is great about my college is that students who took admission with me were all brilliant in one way or other. Some were good in academics, some in sports, some in extra curricular and some in all. Most of my colleagues are well settled with
Entrance Preview
UPTU. I got 4000 rank in UPTU entrance examination and I wanted a govt. engineering college with CS or IT branch. I knew I would not get HBTI Kanpur or IET Lucknow. I filled all govt colleges at the time of counselling in the order of their rankings(got by searching on internet). In first round of counselling I had got BIET Jhansi (IT branch) but in recouselling my college was upgraded to KNIT Sultanpur with same branch.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is basically same across all the colleges of UPTU. In first year we have to study subjects related to our branch. But second year onwards some subjects were related to our branch only.
Internships Opportunities
In our college no companies come for internship (I think the reason is the location of college). Students themselves had to search and apply for internship from outside the campus.
Placement Experience
During 2000-2010 college saw a great placement scenario. Good and reputed companies came for recruitment and students were placed in good companies. Even our senior batch (2012 passout) had a good placement. But during our time only one company - TCS came for Computer Science students and took 60 students only so the competion was tough as students from all branches sat for placement. The previous year intake of TCS was double 120. I think our batch had a bit of hard experience.
College Events
Our colleges have a great deal of students There are various forums in the college - literary, IEST, Arts & Photography, Foronix, Robotics, Hobby Club and many more and they conducted events regularly. Apart from that various cultural events like dancing, singing, ramp walks, poem evets were held regularly. During first semester we nearly had an event every second day. All the events were carried out in CSA ( Cultural Secretary Hall)
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is pretty reasonable. Being a govt college the fee is less. Tuition fee and hostel fees were less but mess was a bit expensive. Here is some approx details:Tuition fess: 32000, Hostel fees: 10000, Mess: Varied from 7500 to 12500 for one semester
Fees and Financial Aid
All the students who family annual income was less than 1,00,000 had a full tuition fee reimbursement. There were separate scholarships for minority students, but I don't know the exact criteria. Also to top 5 students of the branch some amount, I think 5000 was given. No special loan facility was there
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities are ample in amount. Interested student can fully grow and develop his personality by taking part in these. We had cricket,Volleyball, Basketball, Football matches. We had tournaments for computer games (Counter Strike and NFS).
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms were neither too good nor too bad. We had different hostels during each year. The hostels which are newly constructed have a very good condition, newly painted clean bathrooms. But some hostels are very old and needs repairing. We didn't have
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors were pretty helpful. Basically they were the one who guided us, how to live our college life, how to study, how to grow they helped us in every aspect. Basically seniors were our friends.
Exam Structure
The exam schedule was normal. In one semester we had 2 class tests (for all subjects) and one semester examinations. We had very few lab and vivas.
