Remarks

Haldia institute of technology haldia is good for them who want fun in their life with little of careers goals as this place can give you fath through which you can achieve success but all you have to do it on yours own. The college authorities are very lebrals in terms of norms and ragging is a problem iver their at my time but now i think its not so much. You will get full freedom to do any thing inside campuss party, bikes are allowed everytime 24hrs inside campus. You can enjoy having beers near the ground and light fores during winter. It is a good place to be as it is away from crowd. Its a plesant place with very less population, you will find raining at one time and sunsine on the other. It is 125km from Kolkata so transportation is quit good you can reach Kolkata within 3hrs. There are many factories new college you can get to roam around them if you want to. Haldia dock complex is near to it. Ambuja city centre is near to the college. Digha sea beach is around 120 km from there. So you have a lot of places where you can visit. For having peace you can go to the bank of river haldia at township haldia which is 3km from college. All in all a good place to have graduation degree if you want to do in private colleges. Thanks.

Placement Experience

3.5

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL of HIT is solely for the training and placement of students they organise placement drive for the final year student from the month of September. Before drives they organise gd classes. Aptitudes classes etc. In the first ground all the mass recruiting companies visit campass like Infosys, wipro, cts, Tech Mahindra, cap gemini, byjus, extramarks, vadantu etc. They recruits in masses after that cores companies visits the campus they recruits very few only brilliant students and offers very less around 2.5lpa to 3.5lpa. Many elite companies also come but their criteria is very high for the recruitment they offer very good around 6.5 lpa but select very few 1 or 2 from 4 or 5 departments according to thier demands such companies are HALDIA PETROCHEMICALS LTD., NESTLE INDIA, TATA CHEMICALS etc. Comming to training college provide training in various companies to very few students who are mostly the toppers of there departments. Rest of them are told to arrange themselves as college have very few connections and limited seats. Students have to use sources to get training in companies. College don't provide internship program except computer and science engineering dept. They are provided as they have tie ups with Infosys. Rest is same if you have skills and wanted to have internship then do it on your own. College is not responsible.

College Events

4

HIT have many cultural clubs like rang milanti, auspicious paradigms, samarpan etc. They organised cultural activities on regular basis. Whereas college have two main events one is annual culture event organised in the month of November and technical fest "praukti" along with cultural fest "rivera". As west Bengal is the land of art and culture you will get to learn alot from them. There are many professional dancers in the team they will guide you to be like them, there are different bands, natak groups which make people aware of various social causes prevailed in our society. There is mob dancing group which perform every year in our college premises and ambuja city center in haldia and kolkata. All i can say is you will enjoy the atmosphere and aroma of the events and weather also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee of haldia institute of technology haldia is very feasible it is even lowest in comparison to all private colleges under makaut. Fee is on semester basis like at my time it was. Rs 40k or 41k for non hostlers and Rs 52k or 53k for hostlers. You have to pay security money of Rs 10k for college and Rs 5k for hostel which will be refunded after 2 years of completing the courses. For end sem exam you have to pay Rs 1200 for registration to the university for exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provide scholarship to the toppers of every department every years with Rs 30 k, then many schemes are launched by west Bengal govt for the students who are residents of west bengal. Twf students which are below poverty line are charges only Rs 1200 per semester and even hostel fee is very less. As most of students are from bihar and jharkhand the government of bihar recently started providing scholarship to the minority students studying in our college with Rs 30 k every semester.

Campus Life

4.5

Haldia institute of technology haldia is stretched in 39 acres of land having 2 large play ground for football and cricket, gymnasium, yoga center, indoor table tenis stadium, and volleyball court, badminton court, basketball court. There are 2 restaurant inside campus with 2 department stores where you can get necessary stuffs of daily life. College have various laboratory of each departments. Mine department mechanical engineering has 12 laboratory with modern machines and old machines which donot works at all. But yes, labs are some what good well cleaned and maintained. College organises annual sports meets every year in the month of February and various tournaments of different sports are organized on department basis. In my college cricket tournament and football tournament have great importance students of different departments practice for several months for this. Every department wnats to win it. I represented my department in volleyball for 3 years and secured winner every time. So its feels really good as inside the campus have so much to play and enjoy yourself.

Hostel Facilities

4

Haldia institute of technology haldia have 13 hostels inside as well as outside the campus separate for boy's and girls and for every years separate hostels are there. Hostel fee is Rs 12000 per semester plus fooding which vary person to person. Hostel which constructed recently are very good and cleaned while the old ones are a little not clean as expected. There are 5 hostels outside the campus whuch are mainly for 1st years students 1 for the girls and 4 for the boys. From 2nd years they are shifted to the inside campus hostels. You will be provided volleyball court, table tenis court, badminton court inside the hostel which is much fun. Food of mess is somewhat average like in every colleges. You have to manage from the restaurants inside the campus. Or from outside stores whuch they call" thek" they provide you at very cheap price food.

Alumni/Alumna

College have a group of alumni network and they organise it every year called by the name "PHIR DEKHA" but from my opinion tge network is not as strong it should have been. College do not put much stress in building network that will help students in getting guidelines to grow with their career. Mine time my department separately organises alumni meets every years but the response from the passout seniors were not as good it should be. Only very few of them participate in that so all i can say it college really need to make strong connection with their passout students. They can even help with the placement of tgw students in their companies.

Admission

I got admitted through wbjee. My rank was 12100. I got mechanical engineering department for whuch i had to report at jadavpur university for locking of seats. They gave me the allotment letter whuch i took it to hit with all my documents. Prior to admission you to prepare a demand draft of Rs 60k whuch was at my time in favour of haldia institute of technology haldia. Not haldia port which is at different place. And register yourself to anti ranging cell of India their you need to fill the registration number which you will get while registration. After verification of your original certificates and documents you will be given admission in hit. You will be provided option to choose hostel at the time of admission you can even choose pg instead of hostel which are pretty cheap there. And good for self study.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties of hit are well educated but most of them lacks teachings skills they fails to make students understand the concept. They all focuses on university syllabus once it is completed they get relax if not completed they will be taking extra classes of no reason as students are not able to understand. Few prof are very renowned like prof Dr. Bikas bepari, prof. T. K. Jana who have written several books for engineering graduates. Many teaching faculties lacks communication skills they have poor English accents. Which will make you fell boring in thier lectures. Overall i will say most of the assistant professor are dull while the professor are very good you Will enjoy in their lecture sessions.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
