Remarks
The positive side is that the fees is low and is situated in the area easily accessible. But the faculty is nkt that good neither the infrastructure is. The building are too old and also the classroom in veey bad condition.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is BCOM genral which is divided into 3 years with annual examination by the university i.e North bengal university. Also the semester pattern of exams has been introduced called as CBCS pattern
Placement Experience
The college does not provide any placement or job opportunity. The courses are basic ones so there is no point in providing such facilities. Also it is a government college therefore there is very less chances.
College Events
The college usually celebrates festivals and organise events on periodic basis. Event's like fresher's party, sports day and annual day are organized. Also festivals like saraswati puja, durga puja, kaali puja are celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is very nominal. I was charged ?1800 for first year. ?2100 for second year. And ?2300 for the third year. Being government aided college the fees is very much less and easily affordable for different people.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college usually does not provide much loan or scholarship facilities being a government college. But students can take benifit of different schemes of the government. Like loans and scholarship and use them in college.
Campus Life
For the science college the proper labs have been made and maintained. Also there are geography labs for arts students. The all three department of science have different lab. The physics lab, chemistry lab and a biology lab. Apart from this there's also a computer lab.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the senior student are helpful to some extent. They help in providing notes, discuss important matters etc. They also guide students in addmission procedure and other procedure relating to the day to day working of the college.
Admission
Need to fill out an online form eith a nominal fee of ?150 and after the name appears on the merit list we need to pay the respective fee online and go for documents verification. During the verification the documents are checked and addmission is confirmed
Faculty
The faculty are well educated and have decent knowledge about the subject. But we cannot expect a high level education from them. The teachers speak usually in bengali and this creates problem in non bengali students.
