Life in IIM Bodh Gaya

There are lot of positives that I have already discussed. There can be some improvements as well, like we are currently focused on building our own permanent campus, and since the land has been allocated to us, the work has started and it is expected to be done by end of 2021. Thus, some facilities are there that could have been improved, but overall life is good in IIM BG.

Course Curriculum is same as any other top IIM be it Ahmedabad, Calcutta. Also, the same exam structure is followed by our college. Case methodology of teaching, practical experience in softwares like SPSS, R, Python. Then group projects and presentations, assignments they all are part of the curriculum here in IIM Bodh Gaya.

As far as an IIM is concerned, placements are decent enough. ROI is somewhat around 100%, i.e. for a fee that they are charging (10.5 Lakhs for 2 years), we get an average package of somewhat around 10-11 LPA. Along with this, now we have a strong alumni base that has been increasing each and every year. We have alums who are Zonal Managers in firms like Byjus and other fortune 500 firms. We have our alums placed in firms like KPMG, Ogilvy, EY, thus I would say for an IIM placements are decent enough.

We celebrate almost each and every festival, ranging from festivals like Diwali to Ganesh Chaturthi, and almost all state festivals are celebrated with full enthusiasm. Then we have our annual fest, Elegante, which is one of its kind in a place like Bodh Gaya. We also organize many in house events as well on a monthly basis, like football tournament, cricket tournament, Volleyball, Table Tennis and many other. Overall life is full of enjoyment here in Hostel/college, which is needed to handle the workload that an MBA student goes through.

We have the Lowest fees among all major IIMs. Currently we are charging 10.5 LPA for 2 years, and on that too we have good tie-ups with different banks like SBI, CBI, who provide studnt loan at easy loan rated for our students. Also, ROI is good as far as an IIM is concerned.

Almost all government scholarships are available in our college. Plus, we have tie - ups with different banks like SBI, CBI, and they provide a hassle free loan to our students at very reasonable rates.

We have many clubs and committees in our college, and we organize many events like marketing and finance quizzes. Advertising competitions, cricket, volleyball, football, Table Tennis tournaments. Thus, overall life is joyful here in IIM BG.

Hostels are still in improvement mode, but they are more than good enough as far as we compare them with different and new IIMs. We have our own land and buildings on which we have built our hostels and our academic block.

I started preparations for CAT - 2018, then I scored well in that exam thus I got a call from new IIMs and Baby IIMs. After that WAT process happened, and finally I got my name in the final merit list for IIM Bodh Gaya.

We were mentored by IIM Calcutta, thus we used to get one of the best faculties of India and IIM Calcutta for us. They come here for guest lectures and taught us many courses. We also have visiting faculties from IIM Ahmedabad, Ranchi, MDI Gurgaon and from other top B-Schools in India. Currently, we have 10 permanent Assistant Professors in our college who take classes on regular basis.
