Remarks

Best college in Kerala. There are students who get admission in NIT but chose this college. When Kerala government rated the engineering colleges in Kerala, CET Thiruvananthapuram cane in the first place among 150 institutions.

Course Curriculum Overview

Excellent curriculum. We had semester system. When I was studying there, it was Kerala University. Now they changed to KTU. Kerala University examination and syllabus was really good but the students studying there under KTU has very bad opinion about the Kerala Technology University. I studied Electrical and electronics engineering there.

Placement Experience

CET Thiruvananthapuram is the number one engineering college in Kerala. There are excellent placements. Most of the offers are from IT companies. There are several core companies also. They will ensure that all the students will get placements.

College Events

1. Tech fest - This is organised by the college union in the month of October. Students from all over South India attend this. 2. Arts fest - This is organised by the college union in the month of February. 3. Sports day - This happens in November. This is exclusively for the students of college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

CET Thiruvananthapuram is a government college. The fee structure is very feasible. I only had to pay six thousand rupees per year. I used to get ten thousand rupees as scholarship. Hostel fees is also very less.

Fees and Financial Aid

I availed the central sector scholarship given by the government of India. It is a scholarship given for students who are performing well in studies. There are scholarships for minorities and backward communities.

Campus Life

CET Thiruvananthapuram is the first engineering college established in Kerala. The labs are really old. But all the modern facilities are available in the labs. Except the students coming in sports quota sports activities are not there.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is very good in CET Thiruvananthapuram. There are old buildings and New buildings available for students. There is a great mess and food is really good. Since it is near to Thiruvananthapuram town all the facilities are available.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

There are several people in the top organisations from our college. This includes a former ISRO chairman. There are alumni from multi national corporations who bring placements to the college. They also give scholarship to poor students.

Admission

Appeared in Kerala engineering entrance exam. Got 1054 rank and got admitted to CET Thiruvananthapuram through centralised administration process. My first option was CET and since I got admission in the first allotment there was no problem.

Faculty

Very lazy people. They usually bully the poor students. Since there is internal marks, students can't say a thing against them. Corruption is prevalent among all the faculties. No matter how big or small

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
