Remarks

Curriculum can be a bit more diverse indulging more practical activities which can make students feel happy and enthusiastic to participate in things swiftly and score easily. Apart from that, I feel our college rules don't encourage opposite gender interaction mostly due to some bad things that happened in past. Punishing everyone for mistakes committed by some stupids is not a rightful thing to do in my opinion.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our course curriculum is diverse like even if you are a student of core branches, you can opt for optional subjects relating to several other branches. And since our college was a Autonomous Institution, our exams papers were set and after approval from JNTUK were used in exams. Although, our professors can set these papers easily to score, they never did that. They wanted students who studied to score well and maintained the pride of college. Exam Structure includes Internal Exams(Mid-Exams), Semester End Quiz, Semester End exams for theoretical subjects. While practical exam structure included Internal Lab Experiments Performance and Record Marks & Viva-Voce performance marks, Final Lab Experimental Performance &Viva-Voce Marks. Each subject or lab is allocated with 2 credits back then.

Placement Experience

3

Back then, it's one of the toughest year of placements for GMRIT. There weren't many opportunities. But, our placement officers did their best to bring many companies for placements in our college. However, some small companies made it worse for those who got placed in them by putting conditions like bonded labour with minimal pay at remote places. Other than that, everything went well and our seniors helped us in clearing those placements.

College Events

5

We celebrated many events in our college. Freshers day, Annual Day, New year's Eve, Krishnashtami, Christmas Celebrations, Ramzan Eve, Farewell Day, Cultural Fest Eve, Technical Fests, Yoga Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, Sports Day etc. I just couldn't recollect all the events we celebrated. But, there were a lot of events and things that happened when I was studying in GMRIT. At every event, there would be dances, skits and performances from all branches and all year students. During, events like Holi, there would be colors everywhere and our faculty celebrated those kind of events with students without hesitation. During events like Annual Day and Sports day, there would be competitions and tournaments for all the sports that were voted by students and prizes were given. And as you know, cultural and technical fests are a must every year to promote and showcase college's intellectual minds and enthusiastic souls.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is expensive in my opinion. Even though, they have great infrastructure and quality professors and all, it's still one of the most expensive colleges in Andhra Pradesh. I was charged 80,000+ rupees for college. And 60,000+ rupees for college hostel. And there are some other fees like Safety deposit to compensate for any damages done by us to college or college property.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college waivered college fees for students who have secured a rank lesser than 10,000 in AP EAMCET. Other than that, I don't know about any scholarships provided by our college authorities at least to my knowledge.

Hostel Facilities

4

I would rate hostel facilities 4/5. Food was good. Hostel was great. But, sanitation was a bit of a issue back then. WiFi and Lan connectivity is great. Regular bug repellent and mosquito repellent sprays were done to avoid casualties during winter. And in summer, hydrating foods were given preference to keep students healthy. Rooms were allocated on first come first serve basis every time but in a lucky dip to choose floor wise. There were five hostels back then. Ragging is not encouraged in hostels at all. Some faculty used to stay in rooms in our hostels itself. They would monitor and inspect if there are any illicit activities are being done by students.

Alumni/Alumna

GMRIT Alumin Network held meetings time to time to help those who are still in need of it. And our seniors helped us during placements and even after leaving the college, they played a huge role in our lives upbringing.

Admission

I wrote the Andhra Pradesh EAMCET and secured a rank around 12,000. Since, GMRIT is one of the top 10 colleges in AP, I opted for it online. And I secured a seat in B.Tech, EEE in 2013. And when we went to college to complete Admission Process, they asked us to pay full amount of college fees at once and it was a whopping 80,400 rupees for a guy like me. We had to lend money for interest from our relatives for that. And there was a admission fee of 12,000 rupees adding to college fees. And since I wanted to stay in hostel which had a fees structure of 60,000+ per year, we were asked to pay 1,60,000 rupees (including 2 pairs college dress and some other things). Then, I was given a admission and later we went back to college and got ourselves into it.

Faculty

4.5

They were strict but helping in nature. They never wanted us to do mischievous things since we tend to do some really silly things in college. They helped us in building confidence, guided us in projects, presentations. They bonded with us like friends and we played sports together most of the time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chose mechanical (robotics). As they euipped with new equipment's of robotics I have inspired a lot and chose to go with this course. This course helps to understand the mechanical engineering an also robotics. It helps us to understand about the mechanism in hardware. It helps to understand about robot infrastructure and about drones. For this course if there is more depth in robotics subjects than it can better. The frequency and timing is good as they maintain a certain period of time gap between the exams and the difficulty level is also good. If studied for a week we can understand up to some level and have a chance to pass the exams.
