Remarks
Positive Remarks : the college is geographically situated at one of the prime locations of the city. So, transportation will not be an issue from any part of town. Negative Remarks : nothing as such. Except only, any college approval or requests take a lot of time to get resolved due to immense student pressure.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is under the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. They have recently changed their curriculum & updated the syllabus so as to be in par with the modern technology. The exam pattern is 4 years, having 2 semesters each. 8 semesters in total, 4 odd & 4 even sems.
Placement Experience
The job opportunities are great via on campus drive. More than 50 companies (both mass recruiter & startups included) visit the college every year & more than 80% of the eligible candidates get placed. The college does not offer internship of its own, but, does not prevent students from doing the same from outside.
College Events
The college has mainly three fests. 1. EDGE - biggest tech fest of bengal after KSHITIJ 2. ANAKHRONOS - cultural fest of the same grandeur, which have seen artists like Dev Negi, Armaan Malik, Jonita Gandhi perform over the years. 3. Filanthropia - a one of a kind social fest being hosted for 5 years in succession. Only social fest in whole of eastern india
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is governed by MAKAUT university & is approx 3.75 lakhs for the entire course of 4 years. These are submitted in 8 installments as per the semesters. Admission fee includes 1 sem fees & 20,000 submitted during counselling is sent to college for adjustment.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loan facilties are there as there is Punjab National Bank within college premises. Merit bases scholarship is present subjected to marla obtained. It can also be applied for as per Govt. Norms. The college has 5% vote saved for economically backward access
Campus Life
Extra - curricular activities are greatly present all over the college. From dancing, to fashion, to drama. These are all present along with cricket football etc. An yearly tournament is held consisting of all general sports.
Hostel Facilities
I had opted for college hostel facilities. They have different hostels for boys & girls. It includes 3-4 meals a day & has facilities like gym, AC etc. There are a huge no of private Paying Guest facilities available around the college.
Alumni/Alumna
The ALUMNI network is a huge network consisting of both ex students & faculties. They are available all over social media & e-mail as well. They are always eager to help you & yearly reunions form a bond between previous & existing students.
Admission
I appeared for WBJEE 2015. Secured a rank of 4733 & got Techno as my 1st allocation in counselling process. After that I reported to the college on the assigned date & went through the orientation procedure, which us basically an introduction to college & within a week, college started.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is very friendly & eager to help you in their field of expertise. Obviously, not all faculties are the best of the lot, but overall, on an average the knowledge possessed by the facilities are sufficient & conceptually correct.
