Remarks

I would suggest if you are a good student to not go for this college. Try a little harder and maybe get into the state's nit. It is loads better than this college and also near to the city. not like ours, 20 kms from any book seller.

Entrance Preview

To get into the college you need to need to be among the toppers of the JKCETt state level examination. I scored very high among the toppers and opted for the college because it is the only state level government engineering college in the state.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum is outdated i would say. Been teaching the same thing for years and years on. Most of the faculty are absent. Those present are not very good either. The contractual lecturers are good but the permanent ones, they don't even come in the class with the topic prepared.

Internships Opportunities

I am still in the second year so i have not been offered any internship anywhere. That happens in the 3rd year. Companies like tata visit with the highest package of 3,60,000 per annum. Not very high i would say considering the present day market.

Placement Experience

2

As said above companies like tata visited the campus this year only. 5 out of 60 students got placed this year. 3.6lac is the highest going package from tata. Not going higher.

College Events

2

Don't even talk about events. We haven't even had the annual day celebrations in years. There are certain workshops from time to time but not worth the time i would say.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is a government college. The fee comes around to be around 20 thousand per year. That should be feasible in the present world i would say. Including mess and hostel charges it might get upto 60 thousand each year. The mess fees is unexplainably high for a government veg mess.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarships from the institute itself but there are certain others from the government like moma scholarship.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life is dull. Mostly no extracurricular activities as the college lacks a good ground. Sports week is arranged once a year where there are certain competitions like cricket, volleyball, table tennis etc. labs have outdated equipment mostly.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

The hostel building is good i would say. with the recent increase in the intake capacity the freshers have been made to sit 2 in what used to be a single room. Food could always be better, it doesn't suit the stomach most of the times and boarders tend to

Alumni/Alumna

I don't think that there exists any such network in our college. People keep to themselves most of the times. The seniors past year were good, this year, not so much.

Exam Structure

Chilled at first, but when they come they come in battalions. Sessional after sessional with 24 assignment s each year. And finals very quickly after the 2nd sessional.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
