College of Engineering is one of the best engineering colleges in the South India. They have the best academic record every year in Kerala. This is the first choice for those who excels in the Kerala Engineering entrance examination Which means only the best students get to study here. They have very good infrastructure, well experienced faculty, a very well structured curriculum based on the requirements of the engineering industry and an excellent placement facility.

The College is affiliated to the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University. It has a very well structured course curriculum for all the engineering streams. It is well structured in such a way that to develop and nurture the skills of the students and to meet the industry requirements.

College has very well occupied placement cell. There is always a senior professor in charge of the placement process. The placement process starts with your final year of college. If you are able to finish your course in time job is guaranteed. Not only the big IT companies but also plenty of Core engineering companies are visiting the college every year for recruitment. The list includes Royal Enfield, Amazon.in, Hyundai, EY, Bosch, MRF, BPCL etc. The only downside is with the internships. The possibility to get internships was less during my time of college. But since the curriculum has made mandatory to have internships, the college is also providing it.

Mainly two inter college events are celebrated every year in college. One is the Technical fest known as "DRISHTI" and the other one is the annual cultural fest known as "DHWANI". Both these events attracts lot of college students from all over the country. These are considered as one of the biggest college fests in South India. Here you will get opportunity to show your talents in both technical knowledge and extra curricular activities like art and literature.

The College is owned by the Government of Kerala. And it was established to provide the best quality engineering education for every intelligent student regardless of his/her financial status. So, the fee is the minimum you can get anywhere in the world. Not to mention the scholarships you can obtain during your course. During my time the annual fee was as less as 6400 Rupees. I have learned that fee hasn't changed much and it's affordable to students of any section of society.

The Government of Kerala provide plenty of scholarships to the deserving candidates. And you can avail all of them while you are in this college. These include the minority scholarship, Merit cum means scholarship, E - Grants etc.The college also helps you to get educational loans of your need. Since this is one of the best Engineering college in the state with highest percentage of pass outs it won't much difficult to get the loan from any bank.

The college provide plenty of opportunities to show and develop your extra curricular talent. They have well occupied labs and library facilities. An indoor stadium as well as a outdoor stadium and a theatre complex. The college has a literary club, drama club, Robotic cell, IEEE society, debate society, Entrepreneurship development cell with a start up incubation cell supported by both Government of Kerala and Industry, a brach of National Service Scheme and National Cadet Corps. The college also conduct an annual sports meet where you can show your skills in any sport you are interested in. This also serves as a selection process for the inter college sports events.

The College provides a very good Hostel facility with food and accommodation for your entire time of course for both girls and boys. A college professor will be the warden in charge of the hostel and he will be always available for any help you need. The food is healthy and hygienically prepared. There is a well occupied computer centre with Wi-Fi facility, reading room, play ground and fitness centre for the holistic development of the students. I have never experienced any ragging or any other kind of misbehaving from my seniors. They were very supportive and helpful.

College of Engineering have one of the widest alumni network in India. Since this is the oldest engineering college in Kerala, the alumni network is very large and spread across the world. Every year an alumni meet is conducted by the CETAA (College of Engineering Alumni Association) and you will get to meet a lot of eminent personalities across the globe and you will wonder realising that all these people are your seniors. They are also very helpful in getting a job in the country or abroad.

The first stage is the entrance examination conducted by the Commissionerate of Entrance Examinations, Kerala. The exam conducted on every year includes two papers, one for Chemistry and Physics and One for Mathematics. The marks obtained in the exam combined with the marks of 12th standard board exam is used to prepare the common rank list. After the ranks are published you will have to fill your options for college and stream selection for the counseling process through online. After that you will get a college based on your rank and the options you gave. Then they will give you a date for payment of fee and completing the admission process through direct verification of your documents with the college you got admission.

The College has very good faculty. All the teachers are selected through a public recruitment conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission. All the faculty are are well experienced with teaching and the Industry. They are not only helpful with the academics but also helps you to tackle the various situations that are you going to face in the future.
