Likes

Teacher are good, labs are better , bus facility is good.
There is a policy of tfw scheme for meritorious students who score good mark in both jee and academics .other scholarships are also encouraged like emedhabruti.
About placement variety company are coming . courses like m.tech, b.tech, bsc are available. there are so many streams in every department. a very big library with wide range of books of every domain.classes are good ,clean .

Dislikes

The placement scenario for our branch is very bad; very few companies visited during our session.
The hostel facilities of this college is not so good , the food we get here is the worst that every 3 days in a week we need to go for restaurant and dhabas.
Financial and scholarship are only provided to the bonafied students by the state government, there are no institutional scholarship available.

I got through OJEE. I chose this just because, it is the only reputed college in Brahmapur. At that time, Brahmapur does not have much of engineering colleges.

College provides great opportunities

Remarks:

One of the best engineering colleges in Orissa. Scored 69th position in all-india. Giving other engineering institutions in Odisha a run for their money, the Berhampur-based National Institute of Science and Technology forges ahead in the field of techno-education. Relentless efforts by the institution help it make forays into the big league of technical educational institutions in the State of Odisha, besides retaining its strong foothold as the leading engineering college in Southern Odisa.

I joined NIST through OJEE. I managed a decent rank in the 1200's in the state entrance tests. I attended the counselling and was offered a seat in many other institutes as well, however i got to know of the qualitative education and plethora of opportunities provided during campus drives at NIST from one of my seniors. Considering that this was a good college i instantly opted for this college.
