Likes

Iith provides you teaching from the best teachers who are well qualified.
Students in our college gets internship opportunities in their third year.if they performed well in their internship,the company provides preplacement offers before completing their engineering.many best companies like google, microsoft, wipro, tcs, etc come to our college to hire students.
Hostels are great here, there are groups of 6 or 8 rooms forming one pod which helps in mingling better with other students.

Dislikes

I disliked the professor very much, the are very bad in teaching
Sometimes the faculty of my department (mathematics) were hard to deal with.
The professors are two strict not even giving exam paper in advanced range.

The dream college(IITH) - A honest review

Firstly coming to infrastructure advanced Japan technology is inbuilt in every building, Radiant cooling facilities, modern architecture, especially library was simply superb,
Healthy campus environment. 24×7 security services throughout the campus and medical services. Medicines and doctor consultation are budget friendly
Student friendly faculty, high knowledge staff graduated from various iits, mit and other top universities. Practical knowledge and well structured courses with assignments.

Dislikes

Some courses need more credits. More time need to be spent on important topics such as DSA etc. Programming languages need to be taught.
Fests are not upto mark as it is one of high rated campus fest should also be in that range but it was not as expected.
Sometimes hostel services and bus services are poor but not every time. Mess food on some days need to be improved but it is okay.

Placement Experience:

Students from 4th year btech are mostly preferred for placements and mtech, phD students are also given importance. Many companies visit campus during placement drive , keep some exams and take interviews. At an average nearly all students get in the range 20-50 lakhs. Few get above 50 lakhs. Companies from Japan, Microsoft, Nvidia, Infosys etc visit. Nearly 350+ students got placements in 2023. After getting my degree I need to get in placements due to some financial problems later on I want to do something better.

IIT Hyderabad - A institution with a lot of potential to be in the top 4 Engineering institutes in India in the next 10 years.

Likes

Thirdly, most of the professors are quite friendly and approachable. The club culture is good in the campus especially the cultural clubs are very active. And the most beautiful thing I found was that our seniors were friendly including the Mtechs.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are for final year students of Btech, Mtech, Integrated courses. Placements take place usually during the winter seasons (especially from December onwards). Last year the number of companies visited the campus were around 335 and offers provided were 621 . Top recruiters were Deloitte, Google, Oracle , L&T, Paytm etc,. Around 75% students were placed last year. Avg package was 210k INR with median 180K INR. I will surely try for an internship and then for placements, finers crossed. Future plans are there which will possible after some capital.

IITH the Innovation hub

The infrastructure is awesome. There are many academic blocks,labs,etc..
The sports complex is very nice. It has rooms for billiards, chess, Carroms and big halls for volleyball courts, badminton courts, basketball, scating,etc.
Hostel blocks have advanced technology of radiant cooling in the walls and floors. It makes sure that the rooms are at lower temperature even in the noon of summer

Dislikes

There are many labs . But as I am student from artificial intelligence dept., we won't have any lab sessions in our curriculum.
The hygiene conditions at the canteen will be very poor.
The campus is still incomplete. There are many blocks to be constructed (auditorium, Department wise blocks, Library)

Placement Experience:

Students in 8th semester are eligible for getting placements. Many companies visit this college. Microsoft,Google, Nvidia, Accenture Japan,etc.. visited the college this year. Highest package is 90 LPA. Around 75% students got placed

Life at IITH: A students' perspective

Likes

The campus boasts modern facilities and a well-equipped infrastructure, which enhanced my learning experience
I appreciated being surrounded by like-minded individuals who shared similar interests and passions, fostering a supportive and stimulating environment for personal and academic growth
The academic structure and calendar were well-organized, providing a clear roadmap for my studies and extracurricular activities.

Dislikes

One downside was the campus's distance from the city, which sometimes made it challenging to access amenities
While faculty members were knowledgeable, some were overly strict, which could occasionally create a stressful learning environment.
The quality of mess food could be inconsistent at times, and it didn't always meet expectations in terms of taste and variety.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is kinda updated. And every branch students get to learn basic coding. Academic system is slightly different at IITH compared to other colleges. Chemical Engineering is good at IITH. Like in all the IITs, IITH has one of the best chemical engineering branch. The cutoff was slightly below mechanical so it's easier to get chemical at IITH compared to chemical and electrical. each semester here is divided into 3 segments. We have courses for each segment and exams are generally held at the end of each segment. We get grading based on these exams quizzes conducted by professor and some professors give marks for attendance also.

IITH’s Happy Student

Likes

Faculty are perfect.Academic blocks are very good for studying for longer period
Lab Facilities and Research complexes .
Sports Complex and Mess facilities which serves various food items.

Dislikes

Far From city which makes difficult to go for an outing.
More food stalls and canteens might help.
Still construction is going on. So not all facilities are available still.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Civil Engineering is an Ever green cource.If you have patience ,you can earn huge after certain period of time.It is also a practical job.IITH have many labs which helps us to understand concept in depth.We have many further academic purcuits like Mtech,Phd etc.We have fractal academics.So some percentage of marks are awared to surprise quizes which makes student to keep an eye on course frequently.

Life of an average student at IITH

Likes

Sports avalability - seaprate sports complex , trained persons to help and seniors who would encourage is the best thing
Fractal system - having to be in touch with subjects all the time is very good and not having burden all of a sudden
Many Clubs to join and lean , and really can apply in real world

Dislikes

okay so having single room is fin until you get depressed , feeling alone
If you have no friends, almost everyone is so into themselves they almost dont care about other person
suicides increasing in college- not for studies pressure, but due to depression

Placement Experience:

placements are not that good this time, since there are many SDEs and jobs are less but - from seventh semester , a person is eligible for campus placements, there are many companies came and offered, google, microsoft, spriklr many offered around 37LPA , there are some PPO students , they got even higher -60 percent of students are getting placed on- campus - if i wont get any placements from n campus, i would apply from LinkdIn also i am doing projects under a professor so i would consult him, do any other projects in the same area, improve my knowledge then go in the industry side

I like the most is that timtable is very less here. so that it reduces pressure on student.

Dislikes

There will be exams in one week continuously and other week will be free
There is only one canteen for entire campus that to small
Mess food is not that good,menu need to be changed

Placement Experience:

Students at IIT hyderabad typically become eligible for campus placemnets from the seventh semester onwards.we get decent number of packages and placements and the avg salary of every branch is quite decent,

Unveiling Excellence- My Experience at IIT Hyderabad

Likes

I liked the food, the hospitality of staff and the sport facilities
I liked the knowledge of our professors and the available opportunities for internships
I liked the placements which were offered and the median, average palcements

Dislikes

I disliked the fact that quite a lot of students werent placed
Unavailability of drinking water on my floor in my hostel
Lack of proper event organization sometimes

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements Various companies like Google, Microsoft, Amaazon, Facebook, Uber, Ola, visisted and made around 300 offers in total, The highest package offered was 90LPA to a student from CSE and the avg Package was around 20 LPA Around 50% of the students got the placement this year. My plans after getting this degree would be moving abraod for a Masters Degree.

Engineering physics in IIT Hyderabad

Likes

Most like thin of collage life is Hostel life and friends.
Infrastructure of IIT Hyderabad is also good.
Sports facilities are also top class . Sports ground are also too good.

Dislikes

I dislike Many uninteresting course that our department contain.
Many clubs are dead . They only do some things in whole year.
Language problem. Almost 60% of people are from South india .

Placement Experience:

Placements are good . Almost students are placed in our college. Sudents become eligible for campus placements in 7th semester. Most of the biggest company like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Qualcomm, Flipkart and mny more visit our college for placements. Last year our height package is about 64lacks. About 80% students are placed. I will take good placement after getting my degree.

IITH - as a whole

Likes

I liked the curriculum and the flexibility of the system at IITH a lot.
The faculty at IITH are very proficient in their subjects and are very friendly.
The opportunities at IITH for research scholars are one of the best in India

Dislikes

Many of the campus facilities are still under construction.
Some times the bus services can be a bit delayed.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are exemplary, with over 75% students being placed in all kinds of firms. The average placement of all the students placed at IITH is 21 lakh rupees. There are many people who, instead of getting placed, set up their own start up and the college also supports new and young startups with funding if they see potential in it.
