The teachers are friendly with the students and i have the best learning experience in there.
The facilities gauhati university is providing and the infrastructure. teachers try to provide as much information as they can. the campus is so peaceful. hostels facilities are so good. gauhati university provides good health and medical facilities
The courses are very good as they probide a vast selection of them.

Dislikes

There was no entrance exam for us, it was online registration and merit list was provided, there was no entrance exam for us.
Some teacher are very good and some are so bad in behavior and teaching so i dislike some teachers.
Teachers are not good in teaching they are also bad behavior.

My college journey

Likes

I liked my surroundings, the students are very career oriented
I like canteen food , they make with fresh items
I like some of thẻ young teacher.. they are very supportive

Dislikes

I don’t like the way of teaching, it’s too boring and doesn’t provide real life experience
The campus is too small , it gets really crowded sometimes, the washrooms and toilets are also not clean
They don’t provide much events to enhance our skills,

The outside people influenced to get into this cllg . Otherwise the college doesn't provide that much education and skills as I thought before getting admission into this cllg. The cllg should organise events for skill development with real life experience. The exams are always after 5 months... and the timing are usually from 9am-12pm

I choose history subject because its a great subject we get to know past people's great traditions and there culture and everything they prepare a great way the classrooms and the fan and the seats for the sessional 1 and half hrs and in final its 3 hrs

Library is all well equipped with sci - fic books and and novels
The canteen always provide good and refreshing foods
The lab is well equipped with all the scientific instruments

The hostel bathroom is dirty af we have bathe with holes in our door
The classroom most of the time remains dirty
The garden is filled up with plastice and human faceces

They are very practical in aspects of those who really need to learn those cirrculam and it prepares us for the real world and real time problems and well it needs some area of improvement also and the frequency of timing of exams are mainly of 3 hrs

Gauhati Commerce College in a nutshell

Likes

The teachers are very knowledgeable and crisp and crystal clear explain of the various topics
Both sessional exams and internal exams are conducted timely and efficiently
There is a good girls to boys ratio in the course i’m doing and the college in general. The girls in our college also compete for various in college elections

Dislikes

Infrastructure of the college needs to improvement
Placement is the big issue here and also there is no guidance for internships
Bathroom are always dirty so it needs to be cleaned

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.com gives a holistic overview of the stream i.e, commerce. It also opens door to many opportunities I guess. I'm the first batch of NEP where more importance has been given to vocational education, but I guess it is still not upto mark. Even now more emphasis is given on theory but it will change with time. They should give more emphasis on real world applications and internships etc. Exams are conducted on time.

Really active classes, like all classes are active
One of the best faculty you can find in Assam
Focuses on all round development, gives opportunities to all kind of arts

Dislikes

Small campus, more buildings can be built within the campus’s
Calssrooms can be improved, like providing a smart interactive board
Main auditorium needs to be renovated and improved

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choosed the economics course as it is one of the most demanding course at the time, the curriculum like skill work and field surveys that our professors take us per semester really helps to deal with the real world situation and to learn collect data from the grass root level, teachers can use smart interactive boards to explain us more about a topic, the frequency of timing in exams can be improved.

Heaven is what I call this place

Likes

I liked the campus as it is very aesthetic looking and fresh environment.
Many cultural events are being held and they are so fun.
Teachers, Seniors and my batchmates everyone is good. Canteen foods are also very tasty.😋

Dislikes

Currently there is no common room for boys as there is construction going on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I started liking Economics when I was in class 11th our teacher used to teach it in a very interesting way which made me choose these course. The current teacher is the same and I don't regret my decision. There are many scopes in doing BA (Economics) like banking sector, economist etc.

Things that I didn't like is girls common room with small room
Girls washroom were not that good no clean and less number
Time schedule for classes are too late some classes start in time of lunches and also till evening 4

Specific aspects and influenced taking this course as history BA because history is the finest subject in arts with many knowledges with get from it . Teachers and teaching skills are best. A boon and a curse of acquiring knowledge .

Likes

The college has flexible attendence which can be adjusted to 75% attendence if we pay extra fees of absent fines .
Since i stay in PG which is near to my college , i usually enjoy going classes .
I am from different state (Nagaland) studying in the state of Assam , i dont feel any difference in racism among friends .

Dislikes

The college has very less compound which makes it conjusted . Also the college is situated at such a location where the floods usually takes place .
The college fees are very expensive for a middle class family like me . Also the facilities provided by the college as compared to the amounf of fees paid , it is totally unreasonably high price tag .
Not all but some of the lectureres seems racist and some prefer taking classes in assamese where it is an english/hindi medium college .

Specifically , i choose the course LLB is because i wanted to become an advocate which is such an honourable profession . The faculty does prepares us but it is us doing the 99% effort and a student like me who is a first generation lawyer finds hard adjusting to the new course . There are lots of rooms for improvement like upgrading the classes to a digital class room where students gets to learn better . Also , the college environment is too conjusted and it finds hard to adjust to the conjustion . Exams usually are an average papers since i mostly prepare my papers in advance .

The quality of education is very good and competent with other world class universities. The professors are well qualified many of them are post doc holders from different countries
Campus is 650 acres with very much greenary and infrastructure is very good. Almost every classrom has AC and projectors. Two big playgrounds and three and four auditorium halls
The NIRF ranking of the university is top most among north east India universities and 40 th among all universities and 57 among overall institutions

Dislikes

The University buses are less and sometimes its not enough to hold this much students
Some infrastructure isn’t maintained well eg. the playground doesn’t has hygiene and bathroom
There are not enough no of hostels in the campus to get all the students to stay

This course has an syllabus similar with other top universities courses .You can opt this course if you want to become a assistant proff and go for reaserch. The course specialises you to learn very complex physics in simple way and motivates you to pursue reaserch . Some of the syllabus were not competitive exam based like NET ,JEST ,GATE and other than that the course is good and teaching method is both digital and classical The frequency of exam is very high and in a semester there are 3 exams and the difficulty level is high because you didn't get much time to prepare

One of my friends graduated from Gauhati University. According to her, it’s a decent university.

Faculty: The faculties are dedicated. They may seem strict at first, but you can approach them, regarding your problems.

Curriculum: The course curriculum is up-to-date. You can even follow the syllabus for various entrance tests.

Classes: Classes are held regularly. The institute is also strict regarding attendance.

Co-curricular: Different co-curricular activities are held around the academic year.

The environment on campus is great for studies. The university has been accredited with NAAC A grade. Overall it can be a great place to pursue your studies.
