Nava Nalanda Mahavihara was established in 1951 under Rajendra Prasad it is approved by the (UGC. NNM was created to revive the ancient seat of education in Nalanda which was created in the 5th century. Starting with Pali and Buddhism, the original subjects taught at Nalanda Mahavihara in ancient times, it now offers multiple courses in various specializations like Pali, Philosophy, Ancient History, and many more. NNM offers certification and diploma courses in 3 subjects and B.A (Hons). It also offers M.A and Ph.D. in more than 5 specializations.

B.A candidates must have a diploma or 10+2 degree with a minimum 50% score and appear for the proficiency test conducted by the university.
For M.A, the applicants must have a bachelor's degree in a related field and pass the proficiency test.
Ph.D. candidates need to have a Master's degree in the specified field and must pass the Research Entrance Test.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Candidates:

Those who have passed an equivalent qualifying examination from a foreign institution do not need to appear for the Proficiency Test.
Candidates need to have a valid visa/residence permit for the duration of the course.
Candidates must have proficiency over Englis/Hindi as per course requirements.
The details of the candidates should be verified by the forwarding Agencies/ Ministry.

Ans. In cases where foreign students have qualified an equivalent entrance test for a foreign university, they do not have to give the NNM proficiency test. Otherwise, they need to give the proficiency test too.

Ques. Is there a placement cell at Nava Nalanda Mahavihara?

Ans. No, there is not placement cell or specialized placement council, thus students must find placements themselves.

Ques. How are the examinations conducted?

Ans. Examinations are conducted bi-annually for both the Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate. End-Semester Examinations are held during May and December.

Ques. Are there any reservations for foreign students?

Ans. There is a 15% supernumerary seat reservation for foreign students. That is, in addition to total seats, another 15% of the total seat in a course is reserved to be filled only by foreign students.

Admission:

B.A Hons is a three years course. I opt for B.A Hons because this course provides particular specialization while in B.A there is no specialization. B.A Hons is better than B.A programme as far as UPSC preparation is concerned. I want to crack UPSC exam and that requires very good command over the General studies with the current affairs. This course almost covers topics of UPSC exam.I got admission by qualifying The Admission Proficiency Test conducted by university itself. After that I had submitted my all required documents in university to get enrolled.

Admission:

After I completed my 12th class, I registered on official website of this college for admission. Their eligibility criteria was at least 50% marks in Pali language in 12th class. After that, they took a proficiency test to select the students for the course.

The admission in this college is very simple, but there is not a proper online mode of application. You can give all your details to the college and by approaching them. You need to complete your 10th, 12th and graduation in the respective field for admission, and have to pay the registration fee within the stipulated time. They will conduct a Proficiency test to check your knowledge, if cleared, you will be given the seat.
