NIT Delhi Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 198 Reviews

The faculty at this college are well-qualified, with most holding Ph.D. degrees from prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. The faculty-to-student ratio varies, with examples such as 1:10 and 1:40, allowing for good interaction. Courses consist of 36 theory lectures and 12 lab or tutorial lectures per semester, with 3 theory periods and 1 lab per week. Exams include mid-semester and end-semester, with a failure rate as low as 6%.

While faculty are generally cooperative, supportive, and experienced, some are noted to be strict or not as engaging. There is a mix of permanent and temporary faculty, with some turnover. Faculty members are approachable and provide mentorship, although some rely heavily on assignments and presentations. The teaching methods include smart classes, and faculty often provide their own notes and are available for doubt clearance. Although the faculty is highly educated and has industry experience, some students report issues with grading and practical application.

Overall, the faculty is considered a strong point of the college.

Student Snaps:

Faculty:

NIT Delhi has a good faculity to student ratio of around 1:15, which allows decent intresction between students and professors. Most faculty members are approachable during office hours, labs and projects discussions. The overall faculty - student relationship is professional and many many professors are supportive when it comes to acedmics, research guidance and higher studies. I like all faculty. The course includes DSA, OS, CN, DBMS and elective from 5th semester..Each semezter has mid sem , end sem exam, assignments, viva, projects, and continious evaluation. Exams are moderate to difficult and logic based. Some students get backlog in math and core subjects. Overall curriculum is relevant and rigorous, helping in placements and higher studies both.

Faculty:

NIT Delhi boasts a young but well-qualified faculty group, with the majority of the professors possessing PhDs from well-known institutions such as IITs, NITs and IIITs. They are friendly and helpful, particularly at the time of projects and research work, although quality teaching may differ from one department to another. The curriculum system is credit-based with a combination of theory, labs and electives. Every semester generally consists of mid-semester exams (30%), end-semester exams (50%) and ongoing assessments such as quizzes, assignments or practicals (20%). Attendance has weightage, particularly in laboratories. The relative marking system is followed in the majority of the subjects, which makes it easier to balance the level of difficulty. Internal assessment is rigorous but honest, and the students who maintain consistency throughout the semester perform well. Overall, the educational system is designed to promote both conceptual understanding and problem-solving over rote memorization.
