The course is taught by faculty with strong academic qualifications and active research involvement. It comprises two semesters and four class tests, which all contribute to the final grades. Placement is unique as it is secured upon course admission, with no separate placement facilities. In 2013, the L&T package was 4.2 LPA. For the 2013-2015 batch, out of 9 students, 6 were sponsored by L&T and 1 by ESSAR, leaving only 2 students to secure jobs independently.
The second year involves a full-year internship at L&T, focusing on projects like enhancing welding procedures for better production efficiency. The ME welding course at MSU Baroda is sponsored by L&T, which includes reimbursement opportunities. Being a government college, MSU Baroda offers a very low fee structure, but there are no scholarships or financial aid options available.
