How is IIT Bhubaneswar Electrical as compared to other new IITs like Mandi, Indore, Hyderabad, Ropar, Gandhinagar, Dhanbad etc.?

Since my cousin used to be a student of IIT Dhanbad, I might be able to give you some facts about the college which might give you a proper insight. IIT ISM was formerly known as ISM Dhanbad. It boasted of a rich legacy and an equally rich infrastructure which is not true for the newly established IITs. IIT ISM is technically a new IIT but practically it is not. Because of the IIT tag, IIT Bhubaneswar and a number of other IITs had a very low opening and closing ranks. IIT ISM initially had a high opening and closing rank. Many candidates did not want to join IIT ISM even after cracking JEE. Many major companies visited the campus of IIT ISM during placements. The salary package has been going up and the number of companies visiting the campus has also been increasing. Some of the big names are PSUs namely OIL, MECL, CIL, IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, etc. Categories IIT ISM Course Fee 8.75 lakh Highest CTC 12 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA You can get a good job if you go for IIT ISM, as good as a job you can get from its Bhubaneswar counterpart.

The year wise fees is 27000 for a general / obc students . The tuition fees is 1 lac per semester which makes a total of 2lacs of tuition fees and there are some other charges like hostel fees and mess fees and other charges . The SC/St students donot have to pay any tuition fees , only they have to pay hostel and mess fees , which is also refunded after filling an application form by the sc/st students . There aare many scholarship you can apply in the college and also there are opportunities . There is also a program for tuition fees wavier for economically weaker students . If your family income is less than 1lacs then u dont have to pay any tuition fees , if your family income is between 1lacs to 5 lacs then you have tp pay only 33.3 % of the tuiution fees . There is an MCM (MErit Cum based ) scholarship which gives the full tuition fee wavieer and also 10000 per year . Eligibility of this Scholarship is > Family income should be less than 6 lacs > There is a CGPA criteria above which u will be getting MCM > You are availing no other scholarships

The academic facilities are not good as other college.

In 1 year there are 2 semester.In 1 semester Tution fees is 100000, caution fees is 500, registration fees is 200 , admission fees is 500,development fees is 2000 , lab fees is 5000, mess fees is 18500 and for sc and st only mess fees are aplicable and hostel fees otherwise fees are not taken.

The tuition fee of the institute for general students is 1lakh and hostel fees is 18k and other fees is 8k for odd semester and 18k for even semester. The complete cost of education stands at 126450 in odd semester and 135450 in even semester Although there are some scholarship that one can avail including the Vivekanand Scholarship and Inspire scholarship for all students. Whereas, there are also some special scholarship for girls and other scholarship for SC, ST students.

Review of IIT ISM DHANBAD

Basically the fees structure of the IIT ISM Dhanbad is 1 lakh per semester is tution fees for general and OBC category. But fir sc/st it is free . Mess fee will be there for every category students it will be around 18000 per semester. Now at time of admission they take 5000 one time payment that is refundable after completion of course . Hostel fees will be 1000 per semester. And for all other facilities like library , lab fees , hostel facilities and sports facilities and others are around 5000 per semester so the fess will be around 1.25 lakh per semester. Now for economically weaker peoples college provide tution fees waiver. If family salary is under 1 lakh per year they provide 100% fee waiver on tution fee . If family income is above 1 lakh but below 5 lakh they provide 66.7% tutuoon fee waiver . After all these if someone need financial support college provide MCM scholarship for those whose family income is below 6 lakh and having cgpa of 6 and above . Many more scholarship are there for economically weaker people so it is easy to study in this college for every people without the burden of fees.

Honest review of IIT Dhanbad in 3 months.

2 lakhs is the fees paid per year for students of first year. Scholarships are available for students who have family income less than 5 lakhs. General, OBC category students dont have any fees waiver. Whereas SC/ST students have fees waiver. There is no such extra fees taken as development fees, lab fees or other compulsory charges. There is only tuition fees (2 lakhs/year ) and hostel fees (80k/ year)
