Likes

Social clubs.friendly seniors. Green campus.
Green and clean campus always cleaning going on campus.
Campus is also very full of sports and all sports.

Dislikes

Far from city it is very far from city.
During summer the climate becomes very hot.
Its hot climate is very bad I feel very much heated.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think it has one of the best curricula and faculties. All the faculties are greatly qualified and the best in their field .they have the ability. To make any of the toughest topics the easiest and make us understand.

It's overall a perfect college for everyone

Likes

I like it's placement, average, package, faculty behaviour.
I think it is best for everyone who will got this college.

Dislikes

I don't dislike anything in this college.

Placement Experience:

5 th or 6 th semester become eligible for placement like tata motors, tata steel, TCS, Infosys, etc. Last year's highest package was around 85 lakh in mechanical and 1 crore in computer science and average of around 12-15 lakh. 98% of students get placement in every branch.

I like the campus, play ground and classrooms library canteen
The way of teaching of faculties who explain the most difficult topic like real analysis in a very easy way.
Missing a lot the meal of hostel eg PAPADI CHAT and all

Durty washroom, lazy made, lazy food provider

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester student can apply for placement. Mainly education companies, NGOs and other are visited for placement Almost 85% student get placement My next plan is clearing net jrf and applying for PhD

My college Experience

Likes

I liked the curriculum here, its very chill we dont have to take stress, we can pass if we study for one day seriously
I like accomodation, food in college. I haven't faced any problem related to it here
Placements are good here. Anybody can get placement if they study averagly

Dislikes

Culture is not good. Innovative culture is missing

Placement Experience:

In 5th sem companies come for internships. 30 % of students get an internship at that time. Then in the 7th sem placement starts & some people already get PPO. The placements are quite good here. Anybody can get a minimum 12 lpa offer in CSE. The placement percentage is 100%. The highest offer is 80LPA by Atlassian in 2023. And the lowest is 10 LPA. The median is above 15 LPA(this year's low because of the recession)

NIT JAMSHEDPUR is very good for placement.

I likes its placement especially in core and lower branches.

Dislikes

I dislike its campus life. With NIT standards it could be better.

Placement Experience:

Best thing about NIT JAMSHEDPUR is its placement statistics. 98 percent placement ratio. With overall 14.7 lpa package. In ECE and CSE branch 100 percent placement. The highest placement is 80 lpa. Best thing is that core branches and lower branches also has phenomenal placement stats.

One of best NIT in terms of placement.

Likes

I like the placement, placement here is very good for production branch also.
Academic building is very modern and good.
Faculties are very helpful and supportive.

Dislikes

Infrastructure could have better for shake of NIT.
Labs are very old , many equipment doesn't work properly.
Campus life is not that good according to my expectations.

Placement Experience:

In terms of placement, NIT Jamshedpur stands in the top 5 NITs. Overall 97% of students get placed. With 100% placement in ECE and CSE branches. Core branches like mechanical and electrical also have 98.9% and 95% placement respectively. Companies like Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, and Vedanta come. The highest package is 72.5 LPA offered to ECE students. The average package is 14.72LPA. I will go into the IT sector after getting the degree.

Likes

Faculty members are quite good and supporting.
Placements are awesome and good internship opportunities
Many technical and cultural clubs to join and enhance you talent.

Dislikes

75 percentage attendance criteria in the college.
Campus is not too beautiful and requires innovation.
Hostel infrastructure needs some improvements

Placement Experience:

The best part of this college is the placements. Awesome placement in non-core as well as the core. In this college, a wide number of visits like Atlassian, tata steel, Wipro, Amazon, etc. The highest package is 80lakhs and the average is 14lakhs. Approx out of every 100 students 94 got placed.

Life at nit jamsedhpur

Likes

I liked most the environment of the campus.
I liked evening walkings , cultural programs
Teaching style of teachers and the best part is the Nescafe jamming

Placement Experience:

From the 5th sem, you are eligible for campus placements. A company like Tata motors, and Microsoft, are visited. The percentage of students getting placements is around 98-99% My plan after getting the degree is to pursue higher education

Life of NIT Jamshedpur

I like the hostel of NIT Jamshedpur.No other college except IIT Roorkee is going to give the hostel which we have. From second year you will get your single room.Hostel rooms are well furnished and of top level
Academic building is newly constructed and its infrastructure is of world class
My college is situate in jamshedpur and there is free bus service by our college to bistupur which is one of the best place in jamshedpur .

Dislikes

Culture to say sir to senior. Here in our college senior seek lots of respect from you.
Less number of trees are available in our college as compared to other college
Research culture is not good at our college.Most of the student just talk about placement.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement from 4 th year. Almost all companies visited our campus including Tata motors, TATA powers, TATA Steel, Atlassian, Oracle, Ola, Uber, Flipkart, etc. The highest package is 85 lakhs offered by Atlassian. The average package for the CSE branch is 27 lakhs, for ECE 20 lakhs, for Electrical it is 16 laks for mechanical it is 10 lakhs. Almost all students in our college get placed. My plan is to join DRDO after the completion of my degree.

NIT Jamshedpur at a glance

Likes

I liked the aura of the college when I first visited here and got fascinated by the gatherings in admission process. Overall it was a good experience.
I liked the effort of teachers in making us feel comfortable and learn better.
I also liked the senior junior bonding in this college, it is one of the best.

Dislikes

I disliked poor management of the college, there are many areas which are leftover and can be used to make parks, calisthenic parks, etc
I disliked the poor management of buildings like metallurgy and physics department.
I disliked the poor infrastructure of labs which have age old equipments and we get error too large.

Placement Experience:

Placement is the main criterion for which we came to college other than to mingle and to have life support systems aka friends, so not drowning in emotions, let us get straight to the point, placements in NIT Jamshedpur are one of the best in India and among top 2 in the core sector as tata nagar or commonly called Jamshedpur is a hub of industries thanks to Tatas, our college is very near to the industrial area and often students get placed. Let's talk about the software sector, our cse department is one of the highest package-grabbing departments in the whole of India, and for this reason only, many people from foreign countries come to study at NIT JAMSHEDPUR. OUR Placement rate is close to 95% so much much much more than most of the colleges. My plans after the degree are to explore the whole world with my dream partner and live a life worth living.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.

Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.

Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Academics

The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.
