The admission was rather based on merit and on the basis of mark obtained in the Plus 2. As the college was said to have good faculty in mathematics, i opted this college.
Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical Examination. I scored a rank of around 20000. I opted this college since it was near my home. Also it was a new college started in 2009 so I was expecting better infrastructure, placements and good faculties.
My college was the one of the Top ranking college in Trivandrum. There was no Entrance Exam, admission were given based on the marks earned in previous public exams (eg: plus two marks for graduation).
Actually in my college there is no entrance exam in my course, I chose this course (BA economics) because of my parents advice and I know how this course is important in the future I got admission on the merits basis. I got an admission card from the college. So there is no other procedures, admission based on plus two marks.
The college is efficiently managed by the Latin Catholic Diocese of Kollam. The FMNC college have been instrumental in raising the educational standards of the downtrodden people in not just district of kollam but also adjoining districts of Trivandrum and Allepy. The college boasts of a strong Alumni network. Many of its alumni have reached prominent places in their respective fields and are contributing back to their Alma Mater.
This was 12th standard board exam which i wrote and the admission is purely based on merit. I had gotten through with 84% in 12th CBSE boards and guess you need to write an exam if you are not selected under the merit list.
The college campus makes the students feel more like that of a school with the professors and even the securities being strict and also the fact that it is not mixed makes it a dry and silent campus.But at the end of the day we should not forget that girls are not any less than boys and being womens only college it encourages you to take part compulsorily in all the indoor as well as outdoor activities which girls may not get to do in many mixed colleges as boys remain dominant in all such activities including college elections etc.
