IIT Bombay helped me in not just academic but overall development. The culture in the institute is such that it inculcates participation in extracurricular activities of your choice and even helps excel in it along with maintaining the right academic balance.
IIT Bombay is one of the best institutions in India. As per my best experience, it has the best organizational structure with very well managed. The bad point of campus life is a lot of freedom to students sometimes raises the question in my mind about the morals of the student graduating from the campus.
To pursue post-graduation in IIT, you have to clear the gate examination. After scoring a good percentile you will get calls from various colleges where you will have to face the interview. I scored 99.5 percentile in the GATE exam and being the best institute for technology, I chose IIT Powai despite being selected for many other IIT.
The entrance examination for postgraduate studies in IIT is GATE. But getting admission in IIT even after qualifying GATE is not easy. Your ranks in GATE must be less than 1000 to get admission in IIT. Those who score very (Gate score > 800) high can get admission directly in some IIT. For others, some departments take their own written exam followed by an interview.
I cleared the NET-JRF examination conducted by CSIR, India. The IIT Bombay has very talented faculty members and opting for IIT Bombay for me was a very good decision.
GATE 2014, I have a score of 667 in the civil engineering stream, IIT Bombay is one of the top IIT in India, and the civil engineering department has a very good rank in world universities. The facility available in IITB is awesome that is why I opted for IIT Bombay.

IIT JEE Advance scored 240 out of 460, This college is the best in India if someone wants to get into deep research. I choose Energy Engineering as it includes knowledge of all branches (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc). And is a trending face of new research. The faculty is also very good and cooperating.
