To get into IIT, one needs to appear for the IIT JEE exam. But over the past few years exam has changed its pattern. Now the exam is conducted in 2 steps- Main and advanced. All the aspirants are allowed to write the main exam, out of which only 1.5 lakh are selected for advanced. I always wanted to get into IIT Bombay, being the best institute in India. I AIR was 1892 which was good enough to get into IIT Bombay.
JEE Mains and JEE Advanced-2013, Scored 187/360 in JEE Advanced and 239/360 in JEE Mains. IIT-B was the best option available. Ranked Best Engineering Institute in India.
The experience in IIT Bombay is really good as it provides not only curriculum activities but also extra curriculum activities. It is a wonderful place to spend some time of your life and many people dream is to come here and dreams do come true. Wonderful infrastructure and a good environment to live in make it more wonderful to come here and pursue your degree.
None but the atmosphere led to many suicides in the hostel especially amongst Btech as most students did not want others to perform. That was the only bad thing. The rest were good. Good campus life and a deviation from the Indian way of studying. Open book exams were tough as even studying didn't help. Concepts mattered a lot.
College management is quite sensible if you as me. But regarding academics, professors are quite strict. You should not cross them in the wrong way as far as studies go. Apart from that, they are quite supportive in other activities as well as during any crisis situations.
College managements were really good. We were provided the internal bus facility to avail. We also had bus passes because we used to walk a lot within the campus only. I must say that everybody must see the IITB once because it is heaven.
College management is very efficient and is getting better every year. Infrastructure as a whole is improving very rapidly. The quality of education is getting improved and updated to match international standards and even get better.
