Placements are good but in this year due to recession there is decreased in placements . offers are good and there will good number of companies visited .
The faculty of indian institute of technology bhubaneswar are highly qualified faculty with phd the professors are really amazing at teaching.
Tution fee is around 114000 scholarships like fee remission and merit based are available for all students undertakings like fest management and societies are present for those who are interested in extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

Probably i don't have much things to dislike here but still i find lot of difficulties which conveying anything to an odia people.
The criteria of 75 percent attendance. this is the bitter truth that almost everyone hate this. but nobody can do anything right!
It's difficult a bit in cracking exam and 2nd year subjects need some more concentration to crack the exam.

IIT Bhubaneswar Review

Placement Experience:

You cannot doubt IITs regarding the placement. The college achieves a 100% placement record without a doubt and few of the students receive pre-placement offers during their internships program. The college placement cell makes sure that whoever wants to opt for the job is placed according to their interest. Companies like Flipkart, Walmart, Indian Oil, NTPC, Maruti, Ford, HP, Dell, IBM visit the campus during the placement drive. The highest salary package that an individual can receive has no limit but for our batch, it was 55.9 LPA and the lowest was 37 LPA.

Satisfied with the college but curriculum needs to be updated.

Remarks:

Campus is very huge and i personally like a huge campus with very less strength, because you can explore lot of people and of-course you can remember most of them). Also the campus placements are very good here.

From the 3rd semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Companies visited are Google, Flipkart, Amazone, NVIDIA, Qualcomm etc. The highest package was 43.9 lakh per annum for the last academic year and the average package for the last academic year was 15.9 lakh per annum.

We can sit for internships from the 3rd year onwards, and can get Pre-placement offers based on the performance in internships. We can sit for placements in the 4th year. For dual degree students, we can apply for internships from the 4th year and sit for placements in the 5th year.

College: From my point of view

Placement Experience:

Students are available from 7th semester for their placements. There are companies like amazon , deshaw, Goldman Sachs, microsoft major companies come and also many other IT companies also come and psu, hcl like core companies also come. In CSE almost all people get placement and in us and ece ratio is good but in below branch placement is average. I want to do a job in the software field.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the student is eligible for campus placements. Many companies visited our campus during the placement season. Some of them are Amazon, Microsoft, Deshaw, Goldman Sach, Flipkart, and many more. The highest package offered by the company last year was 43.5 lakh. Nearly 80% of students are placed in the placement season. I am planning to become a software engineer after getting a degree.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem onwards we can join internship programs and from 7th sem onwards we are eligible for placement. MNCs companies like Goldman Sachs, Honey well, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Adobe and PSUs like Oil India Limited, HPCL, etc and are open for all. Students if any branch can participate. Some IT companies like Microsoft and Google can provide a package of 40+ lakhs and most of the companies provides an average of about 12-15 lakhs but is somewhat less in the core sector. Core companies provide an average of 6-8 lakhs annually. In my civil engineering, it is 60% in the non core field and 50% in the core field. I'll go for the preparation for the UPSC exam.

Insights of my college

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is quite good. You can check in IIT bbs website. The average CTC is 15.9 LPA and the highest package is 43.9 lakh per annum. You can always have coded in backup for placement. We have seen people who do months of coding and get good placement offers.

The student is eligible for internship from 3 rd year, Placement is in 4 years. Placement is very different for different branches like approximately 100% if you are from ec, ee, cse. And in other core branches if you work for the placement you get placement in non core or core. Approx 100% placement for gen students in meta, civil, mech.

from any semester you can apply, but for in campus you must be in 5th sem, Top tier 1 companies like Microsoft and Amazon, and etc, highest domestic package 43 lakhs, almost 90% were placed in electrical branches, like 95% apply, I will apply for a job on the software side.

The Centre of Entrepreneurship at IIT Bhubaneswar is pretty good and slowly developing. It was inaugurated on 20th June 2016 by Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. The Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India sanctioned 1.50 Crore for the establishment of this canter. The vision behind the establishment of this startup center was to have an enrollment of a minimum of 10 startups in the 1st year of its commencement. The facilities provided at the Centre of Entrepreneurship are food court facility, lodging facility, working/office space, internet facility, electricity facility, laboratory facility, mentoring services, and seed grant maximum up to 2.5 lakh. For the selection procedure, initiation letters for opening startups are yet to be given. Form A is for individuals and teams and form B is for Registered Units Ancillaries and Subsidiaries of establishment Firms. This cell can prove to be a good initiative provided the management and faculty implement innovative ideas too. The highlight of this center is their conduction of Esummit. It is a two-day event which hosted lectures by eminent personalities across various domains. The Centre of Entrepreneurship also organized a workshop on “Funding Opportunities and Legal Aspects of Startups” on 9 April 2016.
