Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Top class Faculty those have highly knowledge in their respective fields
Sports and extra curriculum facility in our collage
Open Campus, Excellent placements, Hostels

Dislikes

Old structure of buildings which need renovation.
old hostels with small rooms and congested bathrooms
Mess food is not good in some hostels its is not up to that standard.

Placement Experience:

As we are in a IIT placements are very good in comperision to other college and even in the time of resession and all this our placements are quite good, most of the student which got internships and then get PPO in their final year. Some of the students chose placement drive for their placement in which most of the student get placements and our highest package is over 1cr in all year .. We will easily get an off campus placement in case of no campus placement.

IIT BHU worst IIT among ALL

Overall, my experience at IIT BHU was incredibly rewarding. I appreciated the rigorous academic environment and the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty members who were experts in their fields.
IIT BHU provided an enriching academic environment with top-notch faculty and excellent infrastructure. The campus life was vibrant, with diverse clubs and activities. The strong emphasis on research and practical learning was commendable.
I also valued the emphasis on holistic development at IIT BHU. Beyond academics, the institute encouraged participation in sports, cultural events, and community service activities, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.

Dislikes

One issue was the occasional lack of transparency in administrative processes, which could lead to confusion and frustration among students. Additionally, there were instances where the workload felt overwhelming.

Life at IIT (BHU) Varanasi

Likes

I liked the way seniors treat their juniors.
I really loved the mess and canteen at hostels
I like the campus during rain. It looks beautiful

Dislikes

The hostel management is really poor at IIT BHU.
The administration is poor. There is not enough safety.
The open campus creates a lot of traffic and noice

Placement Experience:

The placements at IIT BHU are mind blowing. The highest package was 1.68 crores in 2023. This figure might get bigger the upcoming year because the placement in 2k23 was not really successful in all the IITs.

"THE BANARASI IIT"

Likes

Campus life very good. Seniors, faculty are quite supportive.
Fests, Sports, Clubs are super active and are always welcoming the freshers.

Dislikes

The hostels could be more spacious, like 2 members per room or something.
The state "Uttar Pradesh" is not very good according to safety. But you can still go everywhere with safety measures.
Electrical course is quite cast and but tough compared to other courses. But you can make it if you concentrate well.

Placement Experience:

The placements are excellent according to my knowledge. The average package for electrical department in our college is about 27 lakhs per annum. And the percentage of placements is also 90%+. If you don't get into campus placement we can just go for MS in foreign countries or even do a PhD or mtech in the college, there are many ways out.

I got this course as my rank. the course curriculum of my college is too good to be true and i reaally enjoy and learn form my pproffesors they are too good from my prespecive and many other extra circullum activities held. Faculty did Phd from foreign universities.

I mostly like the teaching techniques of professors.

Placement Experience:

7th semester students of b.tech and 9th semester students of dual degree are eligible for placements. Company's like Amazon Flipkart, TCS, Wipro, swiggy, zomato, Microsoft hires students. The percentage students get placed are upto 90 every year and few goes for civil services.

If you are 4 year student - you are eligible for placement in 7th semester If you are 5 year student - you are eligible for placement in 9th semester With the dedicated efforts from the Training and Placement Cell, IIT (BHU), the college witnessed a sturdy recruitment process. As of 3rd January, 2024, a total of 353 internship offers were received. The highest stipend was Rs. 4,50,000 per annum, with an average of Rs. 98,597 per annum. Various companies made 973 Placement offers, including PPOs, with the highest domestic package of Rs. 1.68 crores per annum. The average package stood at an impressive Rs. 24,11,720 per annum. Top recruiters include ServiceNow, D.E. Shaw, Oracle, Wells Fargo, Sciforn Solutions, Texas Digital, Nvidia, Sprinklr, Siemens EDA Google, Jaguar Land Rover and many more. Honest review of IIT BHU

Likes

Acadamics are not too much hard , therefore you get alot time to give to other things
Placements are good for every branch and good carrier opportunities
Beautiful green campus with Vishwanath temple inside it

Dislikes

It is a open campus , anyone can enter inside the campus
Infrastructure is not very well , new IITs have very good infra

Generally students of 7th semester can sit in placements .Most of the companies like google , icrosoft ,amazon ,swiggy hires students . allmost all students got placements , and other go for further studies or civil services . the highhest package offered here is 1.8 crore per annum and average is quit good 20lpa . For cse and mnc average is 36lpa .

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
