Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

Chilling with my friends at the weekend,fests,events etc.
Coding culture in our college is one the best in India.
Cells and clubs include students with different thinking in a different way.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really bad in our college.
Our college is open which creates a mess on the roads.
Our college is not safe, there is a lot of eve teasing.

Placement Experience:

Our placement is good in our college. Approx 70% of the students are placed . From 7th sem we can sit in campus placement. . More than thousand offers are made from a numerous companies like Google, amazon, Flipkart etc. I may appear for upsc exams after the degree.

Likes

Food is quite good than other iits and campus is too big and beautiful. We are allowed to use moter bike and hostel is open 24/7 and there is a lot of beautiful place inside our college like VT farmland and many more

Dislikes

Building is too old and need some improvment
Lecture therater shoud have cusion baches

Course Curriculum Overview:

In iit teaching is good and curriculum is good and it will chosen to teach a student to different field that will help in it work. Exam were held frequently and level of paper is quit hard and not like the board ones.

Brief description of IIT BHU

Likes

I liked the placements of the college teh placements of all the branches are quite impressive. Last year the median package of our branch was around 29 LPA which was wonderfull
The variety of courses offered by our college is very good we have many courses ranging from computer science to pharmaceuticals engineering.
I liked the clubs of the colleges. There are many clubs in the college and also they are very active that i liked the most.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not that good. The hostels are very old but they are improving slowly that is good.
I disliked the thing is that most of the students are doing coding and not exploring the fields here because in college every 3rd or 4th person is doing coding so because of peer pressure everyone is doing that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the the college is same as that of other government institutions. The first year curriculum is same for every students as there is an option of branch change after the first semester and the top performers of the college got opportunity of changing the branch. I choose electronics engineerong of iit bhu because first of all it is a circuital branch and secondly it is quits interesting. The course curriculum is quite good and we have also given the real world aspects of the branch by doing exploratory project which we have to do under a proffessor. In this branch we have digital electronics, communication, analog electronics and many more the labs are also quite good with a wide range of expensive equipments in labs which make our study more interesting. The exams are held every semester one is mid semester exam and another one is end semester exam and other class tests are also happemed sometimes. The difficulty of exams is moderate.

The course curriculum at IIT BHU is highly relevant , offering practical insights for real applications. However,it could benefit from more industry oriented projects and updated teaching methods. Exams are frequent, yet manageable with proper preparation.

Insights of an IIT BHU undergraduate

Likes

Cultural Fests are a must to attend. So many pronights with all the famous and prestigious guests coming to give their performances
Senior junior interaction are a very good tool for your overall development
Sports facilities are very good and coaches are supportive

Dislikes

The open campus here is sometimes giving trouble
The students of other college doing wrongs acts with people in IIT
The pressure that always gets ignored and everyone feels their life is sorted! That's not true

Placement Experience:

There are on campus placements that happen every year and are pretty good. The stats of my college are very satisfying. So like you get a complete experience and a very high paying package at the end so all's well if it ends well

IIT BHU- A whole new Life

The overall involvement in various things around us.
Regular opportunities to explore new interests
Regular mentorship sessions with great people and entrepreneurs

Dislikes

Food quality and no variety in the food. Same food is served again and again
Open campus which creates a dangerous situation due to overspeeding
Mess food is generally fine but on days gets horrible.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is more or less same for every governmental institutions in India. The first year curriculum is almost ssame for all branches as there is also the system of branch changing. From second year, there are courrse specific subjects ehich are pretty good if you are diligent in learning those courses.

IIT Varanasi, one of best colleges in india

Likes

College life was pretty amazing. Food corners were pretty decent.
College education is amazing. People can opt to get any electives.
Infrastructure and hostel facilities are amazing

Placement Experience:

Exceptional placements. It's a bit down right now but it will get better eventually. Average repackage right now is around 18lpa. Around 500+ colleges visited this year including top firms like Google and Amazon.

IIT BHU: Behind doors

Likes

campus, beautiful campus with greenry and amazing architecture
amazing clubs and society culture. All branches have their society and many fests are held every year.
student controlled parliament that we vote for and help us raise our voices

Dislikes

old professors who can't keep up with latest trends, and emphasise on traditional methods of teaching
adiministration is controlled by these profs and they do not understand the sentiment of students at all
BHU which is not part of IIT campus interferes a lot in our businesses

Placement Experience:

There placement and internship opportunity on campus. BTech students are eligible for internship in 5th semester, 3rd year and for placement in 8th semester, 4th year. IDD students are eligible for internship for internship in 7th semester, 4th year and for placement in 10th semester,5th year. Our branch has recieved the highest pachage of over 1.2 crore per annum and the average is high too. Our branch specifically has better placement than others. This branch is suitable for pursuing research further too.

I'm in engineering physics course kind of a hard course and a semi circuital course so helpful in placements and currently a very demanding course for quantum computing and particle physics and also nice if you are interested in astronomy and cosmology

Mostly companies cames here for b. Tech. Student in 7th semester and for idd student in 9th semester. Most of the student get placed in campus placement and some of them go for higher studies and those who are not places they will applied for offcampus placement.

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.
