The Academic is very tough. You have to grind those 4 months real hard in order to get good grades

Fees and Financial Aid:

The Acedemic fees for per semester is 1lakh that makes up 2 lakhs per year for academic fees. And then there is Hostel fees which 30-40 thousand yearly but a little high as a fresher because we need to pay the security fees as well. And the student coming from SC/ST and PWD category has to pay 0 rupees as academic fees but hotel charges remain as usual for the students. Student with the Income certificate of less than 5 lakh we will the given 66 persent scholarship in the academic fees. The waster charges , development fees, lab fees are negligible.

The year wise tuition fee is 118000 around something per semester, the hostel fee is 12000 per year and the mess fee depends on the student. For sc/st category students and parental income less than 6 lakh per year there is no tuition fee but other hostel and mess fee is charged. There are many scholarship based on the percent of class 12, jee advanced rank etc. One of the best scholarship is inspire.

The grading is harsh you have to work really hard to score.

If you have family income less than 5 lakhs then there is no need to pay even a single rupee. Even caste based reservations are there. There are various scholarships available which a student can easily available.

Had to study engineering drawing and biology even tho my branch is based on maths. But still its ok for first year.
The grading is bad in some courses all the grades are in hand of the instructor .

For the first sem we have to pay 1,50,000 containing some security deposits excluding mess charges and electricity bill .While all other semester fees is 1,16,000 which contains tuition fee of 1,00,000. Students get tuition fee waived of on the basis of their categories and family income. Their are various scholarships like inspire ,mcm and various other donor scholarships. The information about this scholarship is available on the sspc website of institute.

Fess for general and OBC category student is around 137000 per semester(including hostel and mess fees) and for SC and ST category student is around 38000(including hostel and mess fees). There are many scholarships in IITK and you can check them on the IITK website. IITK placement average is around 8 LPA with the highest pakage worldwide is 1.47Cr PA and domestic is 82 LPA.
